Unapologetically me, ADHD and all. Brand Influenced & Lifestyle Coach

🇺🇸 A year ago, Memorial Day weekend 2025, I started living out a childhood dream I had almost forgotten about… working in a National Park. 🌲✨

That dream came rushing back the moment I saw a hiring ad for the Sequoia Parks Conservancy. Next thing I knew, I was towing the Airstream and the wiener dogs to California for a season in Sequoia National Park. 🚐🐾

It became the most physically demanding job I’ve ever had. I mean, let’s face it I’m a 57 year old woman with Lupus/RA/ADHD who refuses to give up her life. Side note: More about the good, bad and ageism later though. •
This also was one of the most rewarding jobs, right alongside teaching inner-city students in Baltimore. Two completely different worlds, both equally life-changing. ❤️

So many people have asked me what the experience was really like, and I’m finally ready to share it. Thankfully, I documented as much as I could while living it… all part of the journey toward writing my book.

I’m beyond grateful for the people I met, the love I found, the lessons I learned, and the path it opened to become an Interpretive Ranger.

So… here y’all go. 🌿•

This one hits harder than people think.I’ve already lived the answer. Have you?

Someone once told me, “The phone rings both ways.”That lesson stayed with me, but with ADHD it can be complicated. Out of sight really can become out of mind, even when we deeply care about people.

So maybe the answer is giving a little more grace while still communicating honestly. Sometimes silence isn’t rejection — sometimes it’s overwhelm, distraction, or just a brain trying to keep up.

Thank you… you know who you are. 🤍

Getting a little sister for Kaiser? Best decision ever.Remembering what puppy training feels like in my 50s? Questionable decision. There’s a reason nature gives babies to younger people. Mädchen runs on pure chaos and audacity.

This rare “sit still and recharge in the sunshine” moment lasted approximately 12 seconds before the tiny tornado resumed. Meanwhile Kaiser is out here teaching masterclasses in sunbathing, ocean views, and conserving energy. 😂 🌞

Successful little roadtrip weekend with my low-riders.

23 years ago I was lucky enough to call this place my hood. Capitola has always felt like home to me. It came into my life when I needed it most and I honestly should never have left. The last 20 years may not have looked like what I thought it would, but it was exactly where I needed to be for my parents.

But every time I return to this place I reminded of so much. There’s something about Capitola that brings me peace. A place that continues to inspire me to grow into the best version of myself while quietly helping me heal along the way.

Some places just become part of your soul… and for me, this is one of them. 🌊

It was bound to happen. 😻•

It took 7 days for Kaiser to finally let Mädchen sleep near him… and now she’s officially made her way onto him, too. Every time she got close before, he would get up and move to the opposite side of the bed like, “absolutely not.” 😂•

Seeing these two slowly get comfortable with each other makes my heart so happy. Little by little, she’s settling into her forever home. 🐾💕•

I knew this was a wild rose, but what I didn’t know was it was a California Wild Rose. 💖

The California Wild Rose (Rosa californica) blooms along creeks, meadows, and forest edges throughout California. I found these near the coast in San Simeon. •

These native roses support pollinators, feed wildlife with their rose hips, and provide important habitat for birds and small animals. They are fragrant and the rose hips make really good tea.

Beautiful simple petals, resilient to drought, and deeply rooted in the landscape — wild roses are a reminder that nature does its best work untamed. ✨

A new chapter: A little addition to our Airstream pack… meet Mädchen (pronounced May-tchen). The German word for “little girl.” My O’ma used to call me that when I was young, and when a German traveler suggested it last week, I knew it was the one 🤍

Mädchen is almost 6 months old and already full of personality—playful, curious, and incredibly alert. She hasn’t found her bark yet, which feels like a small miracle 😄

Kaiser, on the other hand, is fully embracing his grumpy old man era today. Yesterday when they met, he didn’t bark at all—in fact, he seemed genuinely interested… like he might even welcome her. Today? Jury’s still out.

Actually, he is acting exactly how Gretchen & Kraut did when I brought him home 10 years ago!

Here we go… 💫🐾 •
