Night driving requires more caution and attention than day driving. Here are some suggestions to help you drive safely at night:
Lower your dashboard lights and avoid using any lights inside the car while driving. This will reduce glare and improve your night vision.
Make sure your headlights, taillights, and windows are clean and functioning well. Adjust your headlights so you don’t dazzle other drivers and only use high beams when appropriate.
Drive at a slower speed and maintain more distance from other vehicles to account for the limited visibility and reaction time at night.
Don’t look directly at the headlights of oncoming vehicles. Instead, look at the right edge of your lane or use the road markings as a guide.
Be aware of pedestrians, cyclists, and animals that may be difficult to see at night. Be extra careful on rural roads or highways that have few street lights.
Don’t drive when you are fatigued, sleepy, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Take breaks every two hours or switch drivers if you can.
By following these suggestions, you can drive more safely and confidently at night. 🚗
