Maintenance position

Maintenance helps keep the zoo safe, clean, and operating smoothly for visitors, staff, and animals. Duties may include but not limited to:
• Repairing and maintaining buildings, enclosures, fences, gates, and walkways.
• Performing basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
• Maintaining animal habitats, exhibits, and support facilities.
• Operating equipment such as tractors, mowers, w**d eaters, and utility vehicles.
• Assisting with landscaping, irrigation systems, gardening, and grounds maintenance.
• Responding to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Conducting routine inspections to identify and address safety concerns.
• Helping set up and maintain special events, exhibits, and seasonal decorations.
• Can communicate and work will with others as well as work alone.
The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, great communication skills, able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and comfortable working around animals while following established safety procedures.
