Initiated at the close of 2011 to support those who are informed about the present, or 6th, mass extinction, know the climate science, and live in “a world of wounds”, Extinction Witness engages in creative witness to loss and pain toward suffering's end, while celebrating compassionate, creative solutions to personal and collective ills. Excited to exist on the cusp of scaling-up established solu

tions for drawing down greenhouse gases and reviving cultural and biological diversity. Among the solutions Extinction Witness encourages is actively grieving past, present, and anticipated losses as a healthy, healing, transformative response that reminds joy of being, clarifies what is needed, and inspires genuinely helpful action. Extinction Witness is one in a growing coalition of artists, educators, museum curators, scientists and writers forwarding International Remembrance Day for Lost Species, November 30th, and hosts Mass Extinction Grief & Creativity Forum on Facebook.
