Three beautiful alpine lakes in one hike? That’s a pretty good deal! 😂🏔️

All you need to know before hiking Emerald Lake Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park:

📍 Start: Bear Lake Trailhead
🥾 Distance: ~3.2 miles round trip
📈 Elevation gain: ~700 ft
⛰️ Difficulty: Moderate
💦 Along the way: Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake

💡 Our tip: Start early! This is one of the most popular hikes in the park, and the Bear Lake parking lot fills up quickly. Check timed-entry requirements or use the park shuttle when available.

If you’re planning a trip to Acadia National Park, here’s how we’d choose:

🥾 Beehive Trail: Shorter, less intimidating, and a great introduction to climbing iron rungs and exposed ledges.

🧗 Precipice Trail: Longer, steeper, and WAY more exposed. This one feels more like an adventure than a regular hike!

❤️ Our pick? Precipice for the adrenaline, Beehive for a shorter thrill.

⚠️ Neither is great if you’re afraid of heights. Check trail closures and weather before going.
