This one isn’t about getting in the water. It’s about understanding why this spring mattered to Gainesville, and why places like this are worth preserving.

After visiting well over 100 Florida spring sites, places like this still make me want to pinch myself to see if it’s real.

Beautiful blue water. Tropical surroundings. Stairways to bliss.

This one should be easy for the casual spring hopper.

NATURES PUNCH!

Would you stop for water pumping right out of the ground? 💦

While spring hopping near Orange Springs, Florida, we stumbled across this old artesian well right beside the highway. I had an empty jug, so naturally, we had to stop and get a little taste of nature’s punch.

And then we noticed the hand-painted message beside the flowing water. Sometimes an unexpected stop gives you more than you were looking for.

UNDERWATER OR SURFACE?

Some springs make you want to jump right in.

Others make you stop and wonder what’s happening beneath the surface.

That’s what I love about Florida’s springs. The more you explore, the more there is to discover—above the water, below it, and sometimes right where a spring meets a river.

Devil’s Ear definitely gave me another reason to keep exploring.

Whether I arrive by land or water, there’s something about finding a crystal-clear 72° spring sitting right beside the darker water of a river.

The colors. The clarity. The setting.

Well over 100 Florida springs visited, and some views simply deserve a second look.

Nature doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful.

BEAR HUNT🐻🐻

Have you ever bear hunted from your car? 😂

Cousin Jon and I took a lazy mans hunt and finally hit pay dirt in the Smoky Mountains—five bears in one afternoon!

We did shoot nothing but the photos and had no hides to skin but we sure enjoyed the Adventure Best of all it didn’t cost us a dime.😃

Sometimes patience pays off. 🐻
