Our mission is to create a sustainable business through honeybee products, hive installation and maintenance, and educating the public about the critical role bees play in producing the food we eat. James Broadus Wilkie V, Owner & Master Beekeeper, has had a fascination with bees and their importance to the environment ever since he studied wildlife biology at Western State College in Colorado. He

wants to educate people about the importance of bees to our production of food. Jimmy feels like it’s his responsibility to give back to the very thing that gives us life. One key to our success is the genetic diversity of our queens. The genetics of our pure Russian honeybee come from the top breeders on the Russian Honeybee Breeders List. Our Russian bees are not hybridized in any way. They are open mated in an isolated Russian bee yard. What sets us apart from other bee businesses is that we stand behind the quality of our bees and will do whatever necessary to keep your hive alive. Our star products are pure raw unadulterated honey flavored by a wide variety of flowering plants in Bend, Oregon and of course our Russian honeybee!

but what does “raw” actually mean?

at Broadus Bees, our raw honey isn’t put through high-heat processing. it’s simply filtered to remove larger particles like beeswax, helping preserve naturally occurring enzymes, antioxidants + nutrients. ✨

keeping it simple means the honey stays as close to the way the bees made it as possible. 🐝

because when the bees already made something this good, why mess with it?

plus, it tastes waayyyy better. 😉

did you know that bees are seeing a whole world we can’t? 👀🐝🌸

honeybees can see ultraviolet light, which is completely invisible to the human eye. many flowers have UV patterns on their petals that act almost like little landing guides, helping point bees toward the nectar and pollen.

so while we see a pretty flower, a bee might be seeing a literal neon sign that says SNACKS THIS WAY. 💅🌼

Sweet, savory, creamy, AND crunchY?! Yes please! 🍯🤤

These whipped honey + goat cheese crostinis come together in minutes and are easy enough for a random tuesday, but fancy enough to make you look good 🧑‍🍳😉

you’ll need:
🥖 1 French baguette, sliced + toasted
🧀 ½ cup goat cheese
🍯 3 tbsp Broadus Bees Raw White Clover Whipped Honey
🌰 ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
🌿 fresh thyme

how to make ’em:

1. spread goat cheese onto each toasted baguette slice.
2. drizzle with whipped honey.
3. sprinkle with chopped nuts + fresh thyme.
4. serve immediately and accept the compliments. 💅

that’s it. sweet, savory + ridiculously easy! Enjoy ✨
