Finally! After months of work the FAA has approved (or not objected to) the Baker Hangar building site. Final work is happening to get paperwork in for the building permit.

BIG NEWS!
The FAA has determined no issues with Baker Hangar. The new Shuksan Hangar is pending review, but preliminary conversations are very favorable.
We are now moving on to final documents for permits and Purchase and Sale agreements. Things are going to pick up speed. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

How do you "Prove" the Tower has a clear view of the Taxiways before you build?
You use a scissor lift and elevate up to the height of the building and have someone take pictures from the tower cab. 15kt gusts made for a chilly morning, but we showed Baker is totally clear from the tower. Unfortunately, we have to reduce the size of Shuksan because it would block Taxiway F.
Shout-out to the BLI Tower folks that let us up to take photos.

Jan. 23, 2026 Update: Due to potential issues with the line of sight from the ATC Tower to Taxiway F we have to reduce the length of Shuksan from 441' to 350'. This eliminated hangars at the end of the building, but did not effect the majority of the other hangars. The FAA is reviewing this current plan and we are expecting (hoping for) approval in the upcoming week.

BIG UPDATE!
Ground lease is being signed on Monday 6/9/2025. 30 year initial plus Two 5-year extensions for a total of 40 years.
Site Plan coming soon, then permits. Should be breaking ground by the end of Summer. Baker First with Shuksan right behind.
All Baker units are reserved. There is a waiting list if someone drops out.
Shuksan units are still available. Don't delay ... they will sell out.

Very productive meeting with Whatcom County Planning & Development (WCP&D) ... The Permit folks.
No Red flags noted with my plan. May have to add an additional fire wall in the Box hangars, but everything is looking like it should be straightforward.
Once I get the final Site Plan from the Port of Bellingham we should be able to get permits started.
This is happening!!
Currently one Box hangar and 14 T-hangars available. Call or DM if interested.
