From a visit or stay at the iconic Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel, a living tribute to the men and women who have served our nation, to exploring the energy of the city, every day brought a new adventure. The history, hospitality, and incredible rooftop views made it an unforgettable home base.

A shopping trip to the Livermore Premium Outlets was a must, with luxury brands like Gucci, Prada, Versace, Coach, and more offering incredible deals. It’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to add a little high-end fashion to their California getaway. I would recommend a one day rental vehicle for this trip; also, do it in conjunction with visiting Napa!

Of course, no visit is complete without spending time at the world-famous PIER 39: watching the sea lions, enjoying fresh seafood, browsing unique shops, and taking in breathtaking views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the San Francisco Bay.

San Francisco delivered the perfect mix of history, luxury shopping, waterfront charm, and unforgettable memories. Until next time, Bay Area! Union Square is very close to the Marine Corps Memorial Hotel.

Napa Valley, California 🍷

Rolling vineyards, world-class wineries, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable hospitality. From scenic drives and incredible cuisine to award-winning wines, Napa Valley is the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy life’s finer moments. Every glass tells a story, and every stop offers another incredible view. I would also highly recommend planning your visit around “The Taste of Napa.” Please don’t sleep on the village of Napa as well; there’s plenty of fine eateries to partake 🙂. Now, if you visit Napa, you must also visit the Five Fingers region of New York!

What an incredible way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! From the military flyovers, concerts, ceremonies, and a spectacular fireworks display over Washington, D.C., the celebration honored 250 years of our nation’s history, sacrifice, service, and resilience.

As a retired U.S. Marine, it was especially meaningful to witness Americans from every walk of life come together to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and to recognize the generations of men and women who have defended them. Proud to have been there for this historic milestone and grateful to be part of our nation’s continuing story. Also, visiting the American History and African American History Museum was an absolute must to put everything in perspective.
