Five days ago I woke up on an island in Thailand. Now...Sand hill cranes overhead, peepers singing, bees buzzing, chilly spring air. I think I'll survive.

After a winter of record low temperatures for the last several decades, it is a relief to have healthy and strong bees survive. I lost some hives - the small and less robust colonies were culled by those harsh conditions. But I am surprised every year when small "d***s" push through and I see them in the spring 🤘
Bees looking good. My favorite breeders are still with us and it will be split and swarm season before we know it...Cheers to the upcoming season!
