An Ireland road trip with seniors is on a lot of family bucket lists, especially for tracing your roots. The pacing is what makes or breaks it.

Ireland looks small on a map, and that's the trap. Roads are narrow and winding, castle stairs are steep and a day that looks easy on paper can wear older travelers out by lunch.

The families who come home happiest don't try to see everything. They keep drives manageable, book the things that sell out ahead of time and choose places to stay where Grandma isn't facing three flights of stone steps at the end of the day.

I wrote a full guide to an Ireland road trip with seniors: how to pace it, what to pre-book and which castle stays are actually accessible.

PreCheck vs Global Entry vs CLEAR: if you're flying with kids and grandparents this holiday season, read this before you pay for any of them.

PreCheck, Global Entry and CLEAR all promise a faster trip through the airport, and they're not interchangeable. For a family traveling across three generations, the right choice depends on how often you fly, whether you're leaving the country and who's in your group.

Holiday security lines are stressful enough on your own. Add a stroller, a car seat, a carry-on full of snacks and a parent who needs to sit down, and every minute in that line feels longer.

I put together a side-by-side comparison of who each program is for, written with your whole family in mind, so you can decide once and stop second-guessing it.

The problem cruising solves that no land destination fully solves: everyone is cared for, and nobody has to be the one managing it. Certified kids' clubs, enrichment programming for grandparents, real downtime for parents. Here's why it's one of my top 8 picks for 2026.

Planning a trip with grandparents? Before you book anything, ask your parents these five questions.

We plan around the kids because their needs are loud. The grandparents' needs tend to show up later, usually on day two, when the stairs or the heat catch up with them.

October is Family History Month, so here's a conversation worth having before anyone books anything:

1. Where have you always wanted to go?
2. What wears you out fastest: stairs, heat, long walks or early mornings?
3. What time of day do you feel your best?
4. What would you happily skip?
5. Which trip from your childhood do you still remember?

That last one is my favorite. Sometimes the answer becomes the whole trip. Sometimes it's a story your kids get to hear for the first time. Either way, it's worth asking.

Share this with your family, or save it for your next visit home.

Traveling with toddlers and grandparents this long weekend? Protect 1 to 3pm like it's a flight you can't miss.

Here's what usually happens on a three-day trip. Day one is packed because everyone's excited. By mid-afternoon, the toddler is melting down, Grandpa is quietly looking for a bench and you're trying to hold it all together until dinner.

It isn't anyone's fault. The youngest and oldest people in your family tend to run out of energy at the same time of day.

That's why every trip I plan has the Nap Gap: a protected rest window from 1 to 3pm. Nothing scheduled. The little ones nap. The grandparents rest. You get an hour that's actually yours.

Then the evening works. Dinner works. Everyone shows up as their best self.

If you're traveling this weekend, try it once and tell me how it goes.

Nobody talks about the mental load of planning a multigenerational trip.

You're checking whether the hotel has an elevator. Whether the pool has steps or a ramp. Whether the restaurant can seat nine people at 5pm, because nobody will make it to 8. Whether your dad can handle the walk from the parking lot, and whether your toddler will nap anywhere that isn't her crib.

And you're doing it on top of everything else.

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day, and I keep thinking about how much invisible work goes into the trips that look effortless in photos. If you're the one carrying it in your family, I see you.

So tell me: what's the one planning detail you always end up handling yourself? I read every comment, and your answers shape what I write about next.

If a 2026 family trip is anywhere on your radar, here's what the calendar actually looks like right now.

Multi-bedroom villas at Beaches Resorts and Turks & Caicos are booking 12 to 18 months out for summer and holiday periods. Connecting cabins on Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line fill just as fast. Premium Disney hotel rooms at peak periods aren't far behind.

None of these are 'someday' decisions anymore. If any of them are on your family's list for 2026, you're not early — you're right on time.

I handle the room configuration and booking architecture for my clients so nothing gets left to chance.

Accessible travel in Hawaii means knowing what the tourism sites won't tell you: the real terrain, the real distances, and the real gap between what's marketed as accessible and what's actually manageable for someone with mobility concerns.

This closes out our Hawaii series for the month, and it's the one we think matters most — because a trip that looks accessible in marketing photos can turn into a genuinely difficult day for a grandparent once you're actually there.

Send us a message and let's design a Hawaii trip that works for everyone in your family, mobility concerns included.

TSA PreCheck vs Global Entry vs CLEAR vs PreCheck Touchless ID — if you've ever stood in an airport line wondering whether you paid for the right program, you're not alone.

Here's the thing: these four programs solve different problems, and picking the wrong one means paying twice (and still standing in a line you didn't need to). PreCheck speeds up security. Global Entry speeds up both security and customs re-entry. CLEAR speeds up the ID-check line specifically. And PreCheck Touchless ID is the newest option, letting you skip the physical card altogether at select airports.

When you're traveling with three generations — a toddler in a stroller, a teenager with a backpack, and grandparents who'd really rather not remove their shoes — the right combination of these programs can be the difference between a smooth morning and a stressful one.

We break this down for every family we work with, because "just get PreCheck" isn't always the full answer. Comment below or send us a message and we'll walk you through which combination actually fits your family's travel pattern.

Paris with a stroller is a genuinely different city than the Paris you see in most travel guides, and knowing the routes ahead of time saves you a rough afternoon.

Some of the most photographed streets in Paris — the ones every guide sends you to first — are some of the worst for wheels of any kind, whether that's a stroller, a wheelchair, or a rolling suitcase. We've mapped out exactly where the smooth, stroller-friendly routes actually are, and which picture-perfect streets to plan around instead of through.

Save this route map before your Paris trip. Your back (and your toddler's nap schedule) will thank you.
