Happy Friday and apparently French 🍟 Fries cooked in Duck πŸ¦† Fat is delicious πŸ˜‹πŸ€€πŸ˜!!!! I will just have to take Billy Bond's word for it, today! Tomorrow, we dine on duck πŸ˜πŸ¦†!!!! Hopefully your lunch is ready and yummy-wummy πŸ˜„ (Le' Telepath, for you C & H fans out there) Got a hot tip for you on Brooder Heat options.

The old red bulb is still great but can be more dangerous if not placed properly within a brooder area. Materials can ignite, lamps can fall, etc. I enjoy the other two options I have learned about over the last 3 years. One is a simple "Ceramic" Brooder Bulb. They use the same watts @ 250, as the red bulb πŸ’‘. However, they aren't as much of a fire hazard due to the makeup. Also, this "Plate-Style" Chicken Heater and brooder is a great option. Your birds can crawl under to get more of a "momma" kinda warm. It has legs and slots on its back to accommodate a fastener for various mounting options. Two is one and one is none. Please have extras of your heating options on hand, Better yet, multiple options with backups. Animals can get sick or worse if not properly warm! Too hot, not great either. Please monitor temps regularly.

Please take care to watch your cord connections, don't let any wiring chaff. Metal of frame, Coop wire, etc. can be a potentially & easily overlooked, avoidable hazard! You could make contact and cause a calamity to life and property. Make sure things are grounded, marked for visibility, and please have appropriate fire detection & extinguishing methods active/available. Please have a great and safe weekend ahead! Merry Mending from our workshop to yours! πŸ”πŸ€ πŸŸπŸ¦†

Happy Friday 😁 and hopefully tasty πŸ˜‹ lunch too! Got a quick garden tip! Use of zip ties and temporary placement of " T "& " U " posts along with simple, garden fence for a quick set-up. You can try out all kinds of setups to see what works if you want to go more permanent later. You can reuse and move if you don't want to keep it in the same spot. Cut ties and remove posts. Do Not drive posts in too far or you will not be able to remove by hand nor with a farm jack. I hope this tip does your Garden πŸͺ space good! Merry Mending from our workshop to yours πŸ§ΈπŸ€ πŸ”

My Apologies folks. There will be no "Freshen Up Friday's" tip this week. I plan on having a good one for you next week! This week has been too much but I've heard that Rome wasn't built in a day. However, 1 Roman didn't build Rome alone. πŸ˜‚ Setbacks and struggles is the theme this Friday but I assure you we shall prevail! Cursing, spitting, and Root Beer β›½ fueled tenacity!!!! May you make someone smile, build a bridge, mend a heart ❀️ but put your mark on it! Own it and be proud 🦚 Have a great weekend and Merry Mending from my workshop to yours πŸ–οΈπŸ€ πŸ”πŸͺ„πŸ› οΈ

Happy "Good" Friday 🫡🀠🦫!!!! It sure is a pretty afternoon here in South Central Kentucky! Happy Easter 🐰🐣🐰 to you all as well! Praise GOD & enjoy those Jelly beans 🫘🀠🫘! I have another automotive detail tip for you on this fabulous spring 🌱 Friday! Auto Glass "Mirror πŸͺž Finish" for your Automotive glass tastes! Hope you like this 🐒

"0000" steel wool, plain water πŸ’¦, and a microfiber towel! That is all that the Pros used at the shop I once worked for in Bowling Green, Ky. You don't use Windex, alcohol, monkey πŸ’ urine, No!!!! "Water"! That's it, basically! Warning ⚠️ 🫡🀠 Do 🚫 Not do this on aftermarket tint, not on the surface of defrost strips in Auto Glass!!!! Please learn how to tell the difference! Don't feel bad, ask for help. You'll be thankful later. πŸ˜‹ You will take a "clean" microfiber towel and wet it. Wring it out. Wipe a small area that you plan to buff. You may do best to divide your Glass into imaginary sections of 1/3 or 1/4 sets to work on a bit at a time. I don't recommend doing a large portion at once. Same as with auto wax applications. Wet area, buff lightly with the new "0000" fine Steel Wool (hardware stores), then wipe clean debris with another portion of the damp towel. Buff with a clean, dry soft towel to finish. You may prefer 3 towels and I wouldn't blame you.

Most of the time your outside glass is not in danger of damage while performing this task. Your inside πŸ’  glass is what you must pay close attention to! You will scratch it up like a rabid cat 🐈 in a πŸ§€ cheese shop!!!! As Jimmy Buffett sang πŸ–οΈ "... permanent reminder of a temporary feeling..."!Do what works for you to learn and be competent at this. Please remember to be aware of tint types, and keep the glass moist when buffing. You'll do great and your πŸͺž glass will look just as stunning as you this Easter πŸ‡πŸ₯š Weekend! πŸ˜‰ I hope this tip finds you green πŸ’š and 🫧 Clean this lovely day! Be safe and Merry Mending πŸ€ πŸ›Ί

Hello and Happy Friday 😁🌞🌻 It sure is a nice one before possible wet weather around here today!
Folks this week's tip is related to "Automotive Window Glass"! This here Chevrolet Astro van had the back glass try to come out. A proper repair requires removing the glass (completely if applicable), cleaning, and surface prep to properly reseat/reseal the window glass. I must say that this job is not fun but also not a big issue if you take your time and do your best 😁 I did not remove the glass entirely. I was certain I would damage the glass doing so. I opted to use an array of paint stirs & wood scrap as shims. This allowed the glass to be propped up and worked with while only being a taste attached at the very side corner.

I must say that "time" is an important factor once you are ready to apply the adhesive. ⚠️ Please use the appropriate adhesive for this application. ⚠️ You may get by with "similar" functioning products, but I would not recommend it. I cannot recommend, " 3M Window Urethane" highly enough!!!! It comes out of the tube like Squeeze cheese onto a cracker 🍘! Excellent πŸ‘Œ product! However, "Permatex Window Weld", not impressed. I do believe there is a problem with some product that may have been improperly stored. The tube that I purchased didn't flow at all! I unfortunately, broke the caulk gun that I had purchased at the Auto πŸ›ž Store to pair with the tube of "Permatex Window Weld". I had to go back and attempt to fill in the gaps from my 1st attempt to apply the Permatex.

I will say that the little tube of "Permatex Black RTV Silicone Adhesive" was equally difficult to flow! It was also purchased at a different Auto Parts Store chain and location. Permatex, I'm sure you've got lovely products. I know because I've used them over the years. Maybe this is normal. I did notify staff of the stores I shopped for products of the issues and my concerns. This is my honest review and I'm not sponsored or paid for it currently. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

What I do recommend is that you have extra products around in the event something fails or maybe was compromised. I didn't account for that Urethane to not flow! Boy was I upset 😜πŸ₯• Now you don't have to have an added headache by learning from my Misadventures πŸ’©πŸ‘Œ πŸ’«
Many blessings from our workshop to yours! Happy Friday 😊 and Merry Mending 🀠 Oh, and watch your "Glass"!!!! πŸ₯™πŸ˜œπŸ“Έ

Freshen Up Friday's #022

Happy Friday and hope lunch is just as tasty πŸ˜‹ as your complete projects! This week's quick tip is one that involves Automotive systems! The awful, "Check Engine" light! πŸ˜› Before we begin... 🚨🚧🚨Note: We are not advising you to ignore, nor break Emissions laws!**** πŸ›‘πŸš§πŸ›‘πŸšπŸ›»πŸš—πŸš™πŸšœπŸš’πŸš‘πŸš“πŸš

You may live in a place that may not have "Smog" rules, regulations, and inspections. I am very much about protecting nature and not poisoning the planet. However, these controls and systems are overkill and not necessary in many applications. Over -engineered really. It's a racket as my Father said many times. At least he was correct πŸ’― about something βœ¨πŸ˜‰βœ¨ You may want to attempt this project of working around the sensor(s) mechanically with the application of "Foulers".

I must say that a problem with the Catalytic Converter is not usually isolated to the converter itself. Usually, there is another issue that has caused your Convertor to either, Operate improperly, fail, Not work correctly, or is blocked and may cause engine damage/failure. Please be aware that you may have other problems besides annoying lights, alarms, and Sounds the radio cannot cover up βš™οΈπŸ“»βš™οΈ. You may throw good money after bad and still not have a vehicle that is operable, let alone, reliable.

Please have a qualified mechanic you trust as an ally for times when we just need the Pros to look at something. You'll both learn and maybe can work through enough to build up your competency for future projects. Maybe one day you decide that Automobile Mechanics is something that you wish to pursue as a career. It's up to you. The best, quick, and dirty video I've watched on this process of "tricking" your vehicle "engine computer" is the one shown by "MrRangerZr1" on YouTube. He explains some other info on adjusting the setup if no success at first.

As with any projects, safety 🦺 1st!!!!!!! Make sure your vehicle is properly jacked up, wheels chocked, emergency brakes applied, etc., etc. etc.!!!!! A few extra minutes of βœ”οΈ ing for secure vehicle raising is not having the ones you love crying about you cutting corners. You're not that person 🫡🀠, are you? πŸ˜‰βœ”οΈ We hope this tip finds you well! Much Love and from our workshop to yours, Merry Mending πŸ”¨πŸ€ πŸšœπŸŽƒ

Happy Friday and happy lunchtime tips! This Friday we are standing on the brink of πŸŒ±πŸŒΌπŸŒ±πŸ’š springtime splendor! Yes, sunshine πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘Œ is gonna come, and arrive more often to not just our gardens, but to our workshops as well! This week's tip is one that we feel will be a blessing in disguise πŸ₯Έ

Simple "Concrete" blocks (such as the ones here volunteered to model for us**🀫 It's an art form like Synchronized Brick 🧱 Lounging**) are great to have around. Spare blocks like these can protect trees, shrubs, and plants temporarily from being lunch πŸ₯ͺ 🦌 πŸ₯€ for Bambi 🀠🦜🌻 You may want to make some temporary stairs, block up something "safely" 🫡🀠🚧. The possibilities are endless. Their are lightweight options, solid, ones for tieing in rebar. A small inventory of various sizes in a quantity of 25-40 is sufficient enough to help handle a small variety of temporary/spontaneous needs or projects on the farmstead or even in the corner of a cozy cottage in town.

We hope this tip finds you well and proves useful to you! Merry Mending from our workshop to yours πŸ’ž βœ‚οΈπŸ€ πŸŒ»
