This is a brilliant illustration of RF and antenna principles.
(Also, a lesson for the flat-earthers)
Elevation is your friend -- USE IT.
For optimal performance, your antennas should be at least 10'-14' (3.5-4.5 meters) high on any given film set.
This gets the most ideal line of sight and also gets you above all the Teradeks and other crap polluting your airspace.

Dear Film Fam -
Someone needs to say it.
You didn't quit film. Film quit you. And it's ok.
Life is full of crazy turns. I'm 56 and have done a LOT of different work because life just seems to like chucking wrenches at my head to see if I can survive the ultimate game of dodgeball. So far, so good. But not without some scars.

There is ZERO shame is getting a side hustle or even changing careers. In fact, if most of us haven't done so by now, we are either independently wealthy and can ride it out, or we are willfully ignoring the financial doom that is crashing around us.

For those who say, "Are you even IN the film industry anymore? It seems like you just abandoned your career. How can you be taken seriously about a film career if you also have this [insert new work] going on?" -- The answer is simple. "I like living indoors and eating regularly. It's a strange addiction, I know - but here we are."

The film industry does not define you. You define yourself. How you adapt, change, and overcome the obstacles that life, gods, and demons throw at you is how you are seen in your own eyes.

Be brave, be bold, and chase your new dream. Be of clear vision. You can still look and move forward even if you can't see the finish line. The ones who would crap on you for that are the same ones who wanted you to fail before.
F**k 'em. --- Go out and win.

I believe in you. So do a lot of other people. You built a career in film, so you have proven that you have the ability to succeed. You can do it again with something new.

This is just one segment of the film "One Fast Move" that I worked on a while back. It's finally out on Amazon Prime.
With the help of my MAD skilled team, led by Erin Gentry with Boom Op Max Osadchenko, and 2nd Unit mixer Scott Beatty - We captured some amazing audio and crystal clear dialogue under some absolutely brutally hot filming conditions.....

Wireless by Lectrosonics, Inc., mics by DPA Microphones and Neumann.

A massive thank you to Writer/Director Kelly Steven Blatz, who recognized the need for quality audio tracks and real production FX for the motorcycles, and lent the weight of his position to the sound department to get what we needed for him.
Mics were put in every conceivable spot. In the bikes, in the helmets, along the race track, on the pursuit cameras...and we even ran a 6-channel DPA surround mic for some of the race launch sequence.

FWIW, in this segment, the crash bike is fully miced with Lectrosonics, Inc. and DPA Microphones gear. The audio is from the actual crash. The gear survived and is still in use today.

Monday may be a fantastic day off for millions of Americans.
Monday may also be an emotionally crushing day for those who have survived the losses that most will not take the time to consider. To those who have survived; the mothers, Fathers, Wives, Husbands, Children, and Brothers-In-Arms. I offer my utmost respect, condolences, and sorrow, insufficient as they may be. I remember the fallen with you.
I wish you peace, solace, and comfort.
To the rest of the nation - I urge you to pause and do the same.
