Bringing Learning to Life

In 1990, David and Christine Persson had a vision to open a “hands on” educational store for teachers and parents. That vision began when Christine began teaching first grade and began setting up her classroom. David realized the need for quality educational stores after spending hours shopping with his wife for the supplies she needed. After several years of research and input from fellow educators, they opened their first retail location in Marietta, Georgia.

Today, The School Box employees over one hundred employees, operates multiple retail locations in Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia, and is expanding awareness for their products through the marketing of two online stores - www.schoolbox.com and www.schoolboxkits.com. With headquarters and distribution in Marietta, Georgia, The School Box continues to be the Southeast’s largest family-owned and operated retail provider of educational materials.

Our helpful, knowledgeable and experienced staff continue to provide excellent customer service and receive ongoing training on the latest standards and products. Our staff consists of many current and former educators and we take pride in our ability to offer our customers the experience they are looking for while shopping for the very best educational products for their classroom or their children.
