Thanks Oak Society for this wonderful Grant of $10,000

𝐎𝐚𝐤 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲’𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬! 🎉

After a close vote and a runoff at last night’s Grantee Selection Party, Oak Society members chose Sunshine Seniors to 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 this year’s $𝟏𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭. The grant will support Sunshine Seniors’ food distribution work in Hall County.

We’ll share more photos from the party soon, along with a closer look at how Oak Society members will come alongside Sunshine Seniors beyond the grant. 📸💚

Sunshine Seniors are so THANKFUL for being the recipient of the 2026 Oak Society Grant Award $10,000.
EVERY Dollar will go back to our community to ensure families are being feed. We are 100% Volunteer lead and it is truly a pleasure to serve our community. North Georgia Community Foundation is our fiscal sponsor. St John Baptist Church has allowed us to distribute food for the past 13 years

Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED Inc one of our partners and Volunteered on Tuesday
9/15/26. Provided Honey Baked Ham for All Volunteers and on Wednesday we enjoyed a great lunch at their location and Cody Elder and presented a check for $2500. Quin Seay and the rest of Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED team are the best host.

Meet Belinda Dickey, a lifelong Gainesville resident whose heart for service has touched generations throughout our community.

After a 25-year career with the Georgia Department of Labor, Belinda has continued to devote herself to helping others. As President of Sunshine Seniors, she leads an organization that has served as a mobile food bank for more than a decade. Today, Sunshine Seniors provides food to approximately 600 families each week—a remarkable testament to Belinda’s belief in the power of community, generosity, and simply putting your hands to the work.

Her commitment to service extends throughout Gainesville and Hall County through numerous boards, committees, community cleanups, and volunteer efforts. Inspired by the example of her mother and grandmother, Belinda believes having a voice means more than having a seat at the table—it means speaking up, offering solutions, and standing up for others.

Her message to the next generation of women is simple: Get involved. Lend a helping hand. Know that you matter and have so much to offer.

Belinda’s life reflects the words she shares so beautifully: “I know I was born to serve.”
