𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤: September 10 marks the statistical peak of the entire hurricane season.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰: About 95% of major hurricanes (Category 3, 4, and 5) happen between mid-August and late October.

I’ve really enjoyed these easy mornings getting Brady off to school while recovering from my surgery, but I return to work next week after the Labor Day holiday. I may have to get up at 4am, but I’m determined to continue homemade breakfasts, and doing all of the things.

Right now, our newest breakfast obsession is a simple sandwich with a twist.

When I was a little girl, we used to drive past a house that had a garden statue of two frogs sitting under an umbrella. I thought they were absolutely hilarious and, naturally, decided I needed a pair of my own. 😂

I had completely forgotten about them until about three years ago, when my mom surprised me. She found a picture online of the frogs I remembered from childhood and had them custom made for me.

Apparently, you can’t really find these anymore, although they were fairly common back in the early ’80s.

Today, they sit in my yard, just like I imagined they would all those years ago.

I don’t think I’ll ever have a yard without them. They may just look like two little frogs to everyone else, but to me, they’re a little piece of my childhood and one of those unexpected reminders of my mom.

Every time I look at them, I think of her. And I hope I always do. 💚

We went to a New Mexican spot for lunch with our baseball family and one of the dads ordered this. It was very impressive. I tried octopus legs!
