Double D’s Restaurant has just opened right outside the airport gate at Horseshoe Bend Airport. Pilots and passengers once again have a convenient place to get breakfast and lunch when stopping in Horseshoe Bend. Double D’s is open 7 days a week from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Aircraft Hangar Space at Horseshoe Bend Airport (6M2)

Hangar space at Horseshoe Bend Airport is available for lease for the sole use of storing Airworthy Flyable aircraft. Storage of a vehicle in a hangar is only permitted while aircraft normally in the hangar are in use. Failure to own and maintain an airworthy flyable aircraft, or storage of other non-aviation personal property will result in hangar lease termination.

Currently Available Hangar space at Horseshoe Bend Airport:

Hangar 9A - $110/month with electricity included.

Shared 2 aircraft hangar. Lease includes one half of 60’ wide and 40’ deep hangar (30’ wide by 40’ deep space). Hangar has electric roller doors that have 14’ high clearance. Other current aircraft in the hangar is a low wing Mooney, so a high-wing aircraft would be desirable.

Hangar 4 - $150/month plus electricity.

Single center hangar in group of 3. Hangar is 40’ wide and 30’ deep, and has an electric/hydraulic swing out door with 10’ height clearance.

This new above ground aircraft fuel system is replacing the existing inground fuel system that is near the end of its life. The existing 100LL Avgas self-serve fuel system is still operational until the new system replaces it.

Calling local plane owners. We need transport aircraft to ferry supplies from KBAK (Columbus, IN) to KHKY (Hickory, NC). C172, KA90, anything can help. Once in Hickory we have helicopters that will distribute to residents in need.
