Jumping on the haunted house trend because traveling with food allergies can be scary without the right preparation! 👻

Vacation is supposed to be a break, but for allergy families it can feel like we’re in overdrive. Asking the same questions over and over, hunting for safe food, and sometimes eating the same “safe” (but boring) meal five days in a row.

As an allergy mom who plans trips for a living, through my own trial and error I’ve learned that a lot of these rooms can be skipped with some planning before you ever leave home 🧡

Sharing some of our favorites from two weeks in Ireland this summer!

Just about an hour’s drive from the city, Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains feels like it was lifted straight out of a fairytale. ✨

Here’s how we spent our day: 👇
📍 Glendalough Monastic Site: ancient, moody, and eerily beautiful
📍 The Round Tower: standing guard over the valley for centuries
📍 Green Road Trail: an easy woodland stroll that leads you past the lakes
📍 Poulanass Waterfall: say it with us, “pool-a-NASS”
📍 Spinc Short Route (Blue Trail): our legs felt it, and the view was worth it
📍 Upper Lake viewpoint: the jaw-drop moment

Here’s the thing about the perfect itinerary: it’s not about checking off every famous sight. It’s about finding the places that speak to you. That was our whole goal for our summer trip to Ireland, and Glendalough was a place that left an impression on all of us.

Can’t wait to go back to Ireland 💚

The fear of the unknown before booking your first international trip with kids is real. 🌍✈️

I wish someone had told me sooner that jet lag with kids is so much more manageable than it feels from home. Honestly? My kids adjusted to the time change faster than I did. 😅 And on the other side of that long flight are some of the best memories our family has ever made.

Sharing the simple things that have helped us acclimate after long flights. This isn’t a perfect formula, just what’s worked for our crew, and I hope it helps yours too!

I almost forgot that traveling with my family *is* the whole point.

I love this trend, it gives me all the feels… It’s so easy to get lost in the busy, the planning, the “someday.” The days blur into one another and we think, “so, what is the point, really?”

For me, it’s seeing as much of this big, wide world as I can before my time’s up. It’s discovering new places with my family, with my boys exactly as they are right now and my parents still able to join me.

I’m not waiting until I’m 65. I want to fill my memory bank while I’m able, and while my boys still want to hold my hand.

Travel has given me back so much more than I’ve ever spent on it. If you agree, then save this for the day you may need the reminder 🤍

I’m peeling back the curtain on how I think about travel planning for my family, and others like mine!

Planning a trip with food allergies is a mental load that never fully turns off. Every destination, every meal, every “what if” gets worked through before you even pack a bag.

I’ve never let allergies dictate what my family can and can’t do. It just means I look at every trip through a different lens…risk tolerance, deep dives on where we stay and how we eat and a backup plan if things don’t go as expected. Oh, and how to have maximum fun wherever we go and squeeze out allll the joy!

That same thoughtful, thorough approach is what every family gets when I plan their trip, allergies or not.

Traveling with food allergies, or just want a trip planned this carefully? Let me know 🧡

As if we needed another excuse to book a Disney trip 🤷‍♀️

Calling all “let’s book the next trip on the flight home” people, this one’s for you!

The best time to book your next Disney trip isn’t actually 6-12 months out. It’s the week you get home. ✈️

There’s a window most Disney guests never even know exists: you can book your next on-property stay within 7 days of checking out and lock in savings, up to 35% depending on resort category. No waiting for a sale or promo to drop, just a “bounce-back” window most people don’t realize is there.

This is exactly the kind of tip not everyone knows about and where a travel agent can be helpful. There’s more to know about these bounce-back offers, reach out if you’re looking to book Disney and we can make sure you get all the savings!

Dining out on vacation IS possible with multiple food allergies — it just takes the right prep.

Watching my son eat freely for an entire week at Disney? Worth every bit of coordination that went into it before we ever left home.

This kind of confidence wasn’t built overnight. It’s a muscle we’ve had to exercise, trip after trip. Not every destination is as allergy-friendly as Disney, but flexing that muscle is exactly what’s taught us how to travel confidently.

If your family manages food allergies and dreams of an stress-free vacation, know this: it’s absolutely possible with the right planning. I’d love to be your allergy-aware advocate to help you build your travel muscle and give your family the memorable trips we all dream of.
