Today the club volunteered with Clearwater Conservancy, a local nonprofit natural landscape conservation organization. Members planted various shrubs to restore a riparian buffer around the headwaters of Centre County’s Spring Creek.

CALLING ALL TIN CAN CAPTAINS!

Coming up on Sunday, November 8th, we will be having our annual club derby on the Susquehanna! This is a casual event intended to provide club members with the opportunity to compete against one another!

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE + RULES:

This event is open to anyone willing to partner with a current Penn State Bass Fishing Club member. Prior to the tournament, all boaters will receive their pairings by random draw.

All of us will meet at the Bass Pro Shops parking lot in Harrisburg at 6:00am. From there, we will collect the small fee, and every team will be given a scale, weigh bag, and paper weigh sheet from our tournament director. Teams will record their best 5, culling with paper and pencil and immediately releasing. The rules will be explained further in person, but there are photo requirements for each keeper on your limit.

After all is sorted out in the morning, teams can then drive to whichever ramp on the river they choose, permitting that the waterway is part of the Susquehanna River and tributaries. 🚨PRIVATE RAMPS ARE NOT ALLOWED🚨. If you have access to a private boat launch through a club or private property, you may not launch there for the tournament. Only public access ramps are permitted. Fishing behind the various dams on the Susquehanna is allowed (North, West, and Main branches). Fishing behind dams on tributaries is not.

We will then all reconvene at Bass Pro at 3:30 PM to submit weights and shake out the standings.

Hunter Run EAST Launch, check-ins start at 5:30 AM. Fishing hours are 7am-3pm.

This is a TEAM event, so fish solo or with a partner. Entry fees are $100/boat, and $10 lunker (lunker is fully paid out). Donations are accepted. Payout amounts will be based on the number of registered teams the day of the event. Expect a substantial check for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Additional places may be paid.

PRE-REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Pre-register now to reserve your spot at the 4th Annual PSBF Fundraiser Tournament. To register, the boater must text both participant’s full names to 814-404-9222 along with phone numbers for both anglers. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU NOTIFY US IMMEDIATELY UPON CANCELLATION!!! If the event fills up during check in, unregistered overflow teams present at the launch will be given the positions of any late registered teams.
