✨ Wonder Wednesday: Sorrento, Italy 🇮🇹

Some places are beautiful in pictures.

And then there are places where you stand there, look out over the water and think, I could stay here awhile.

Sorrento was one of those places for me. 💙

Perched along the coast overlooking the Bay of Naples, it has those gorgeous views, charming streets, and that unmistakable Italian feeling that makes you want to slow down and simply enjoy where you are.

I’ve been fortunate to visit some incredible places, but Sorrento is definitely one I would happily return to.

Could you see yourself lingering a little longer here? 🇮🇹

Travel Tip Tuesday!

Traveling to Europe? Please don’t Google “European visa” and click the first sponsored website you see.

If you’re visiting England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, most American travelers now need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation—or ETA. Apply only through the official UK ETA app or GOV.UK.

It currently costs £20 per traveler—and yes, every child and baby needs their own.

But if you’re traveling to countries such as Italy, Greece, France, Spain, or Croatia, ETIAS is not accepting applications yet. So if a website offers to secure your ETIAS today, back away!

Always verify the requirement for your specific destination and use the country’s official government website.

That is one of those small travel details that can create a very big problem if you get it wrong.

WHO looked at tree resin and thought… “I wonder what that tastes like?” 🤣🌳

Because apparently, humans have been fascinated with this stuff for a VERY long time.

On the Greek island of Chios, tiny drops of resin from mastic trees harden into what are traditionally called “tears.”

And eventually somebody did something I completely support…

They made LIQUEUR out of it. 😂🍸🇬🇷

It's called Mastiha, and it's sweet, herbal, a little piney and citrusy — and can be served chilled, over ice or in cocktails.

So for this week's Thirsty Thursday:

Would I drink tree tears in Greece? ABSOLUTELY.

Now I need to know…

What if I told you Alaska once had no light? 🐦‍⬛🌅

And a very clever Raven had something to do with changing that...

For today's Folklore Friday, we're heading into a traditional Tlingit story about Raven—Yéil—the trickster, transformer and the one who brought light into the world.

I love these stories because they remind me that Alaska is so much more than glaciers, whales and beautiful scenery. There are generations of stories, traditions and culture woven into this incredible place.

And once you learn some of those stories, you start seeing the destination a little differently. ❤️

I’m Gina Renee, and I believe the best trips aren’t just about where you go—they’re about the stories you bring home.

One of my favorite things to plan is GROUP TRAVEL.

Because someone usually starts with:

“Wouldn’t it be fun if we all went to Alaska?”
“What if we took a river cruise together?”
“We should get everyone together and go to Europe!”

And then reality hits. 😂

Who handles the rooms? The payments? The questions? The flights? The cruise? The transfers? And WHO is going to answer everyone when they start asking what they should pack?

Alaska travelers… here’s one they don’t exactly warn you about before you go. 😂🦆

At some point during your Alaska adventures, you may see something called a Duck Fart on the drink menu.

Yes. You read that correctly. 🤣

It’s an Alaska favorite made with layers of Kahlúa, Baileys Irish Cream and Crown Royal.

And before you ask, yes, I’ve had one. 😂 Despite the name, it’s actually not too bad!

It’s one of those funny little things you might encounter while traveling that makes you say, “Okay… I have to try it at least once.”

So now, when you get to Alaska and someone asks, “Have you had a Duck Fart yet?” you won’t look at them like they’ve completely lost their mind. 😂

🚢 TEXAS CRUISERS — THIS IS BIG NEWS! 🙌

We just got another SUMMER cruise option out of Galveston, and y'all... we needed it!

Norwegian Prima is coming to Galveston for Summer 2028, sailing 7-night, Saturday-to-Saturday Western Caribbean cruises.

And here's why I'm so excited about this: I'm already seeing summer 2027 Galveston sailings filling up, and we're still a year away. Texas cruisers LOVE being able to drive to the port, especially families traveling during summer break.

Norwegian has sailed from Galveston seasonally before, but having them here during the summer gives us another cruise line and another ship to choose from. 👏

More choice. No flight required for many of us. And another way to cruise right from our own Texas backyard. ❤️
