I wonder when they poured the concrete here for a fertilizer shed all those decades ago if they ever thought ahead to what happens after? How about when the rail road still ran through this yard? Or even when my father purchased the old facility with its abandoned buildings?

Now days it is being utilized as a drop area for loaded trailers, transferring soybean oil from plant to plant working direct with Fortune 500 companies and bringing jobs to rural America to keep the communities alive.

Maybe I am the only one that thinks about that while drinking coffee in the morning? The generations that came before us and how different life is now.

Getting the day started with a light show and sunrise. The hoppers are running non-stop currently with fertilizer season in full swing.

It's been a busy week for our fleet with all our hopper trailers being put to work. Several of our local and regional drivers have been running up to St. Paul to deliver and reload right off the Mississippi River.

Have you HERD about the benefits of running grille guards when running rural roads? The driver was able to finish their day out with no damage, or need for another cup of coffee, as they are wide awake now.

With the cost of a single led headlight unit over $1500, a single deer strike pays for the cost of the grille guard, and that doesn’t include the hood or downtime.

-We are based in Amboy, Minnesota. Company trucks return to our truck yard in Amboy on weekends/driver resets.
-Must have a minimum of 2 years of CDL experience and have a safe driving record.
-Drivers are paid 100% on W2, with weekly direct deposits.
-Full-time drivers receive 10 days of Paid Time Off per year of employment.

We are trying something new with our Tridem hoppers for storage. The intent was to be able to leave a shovel, broom, vi****or and tarp control with the trailer at all times. Initially we were going to put them on the top under the tarp, but climbing the ladder one handed could potentially lead to some falls so we reexamined the potential storage locations. We chose above the trailer axles as the spacing on these trailers provides enough room to easily get in and out under the trailer.

We know that during the winter and in the rain this location is not ideal, and in the future we will be looking for an alternative location, but for the spring and summer this should be fine. How is everybody else mounting tools to and in their hopper trailers?

We had some wild weather in our area Monday night with a few small tornadoes and some tennis ball size hail. Thankfully no injuries, and we had no significant damage to our equipment. Company driver Nate captured this cool shot of the storm on his overnight shift!

Training day, first day of feed ingredient hauling, complete with stubborn MIDDS loaded on humid day. We have covered how vi****ors work, using our new suction cup models that work well, and also how to use an air wand to “pop” the product while not getting a face full of dust.

The three additional trailers on our four trailer order are done and being picked up this weekend and brought back to be put to work.

We were able to get almost 30 ton of wheat MIDDS on these trailers, not bad for 78 inch sidewalls. We had been running 84 inch sidewalls, however with more day cabs in the fleet we wanted to lower how far above the fab they sat.

Happy Easter!
Kicking off this holiday morning pointing Eastbound. We already have 5 trucks on the road this morning, all volunteers who wanted to work today.

We are still looking to add for a couple more part-time weekend drivers to keep up with demand.
