🚨LINK IN BIO🚨 Hey friends. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this on here a few times, but I’ve been working on a big research project for a pretty long time. The final product is going to be a 600+ page book. It’s going to be fancy, and it’s going to be expensive to produce, but I couldn’t be more excited about it.

Recently, I had an idea for a completely different book. It’s way less fancy, and is mostly just meant for glove compartments and pockets. My thought was… maybe this other, non-fancy book might be able to help cover some of the cost for the other one? I don’t know how many people are as pumped about both ice cream and keeping track of things as I am, but maybe there are a few.

Anyway, this little 4”x6” jammer contains a listing of every current Stewart’s location, along with space for the date of visit and notes. There’s also some “challenges” to beat. Things like visiting every shop that doesn’t have a gas station, or visiting every one in the Adirondack Park.

As a father, I’m planning to use this as a tool to get more ice cream into my body while pretending that it’s all about teaching my kids numbers and geography. I may not be the only father who might appreciate such a tool. Just sayin. *ahem* AVAILABLE NOW on Amazon (I know, I know) and soon directly from me, but not in time to grab one for the big guy.

I haven’t used this platform in a while… so I’d be surprised if many people saw this post. If you happen to be one of them (you are) and wouldn’t mind sharing or saving or whatever the thing is that you’re supposed to do to make more people know about a thing you think is good… please do that? ❤️ Mitch

This is the last Fantacon piece I have in the stash. Worth nothing that this one is actually a poster, not a program. It’s quite a bit larger too, at approximately. 22”x30” with the frame. I spent a whole lot of time trying to find some sort of gallery of all the Fantacon program covers. No luck. Anyone got photos of any of them other than this one and the one I posted yesterday? I bet they’re awesome. This one is bigger than yesterday’s. Approx. 15.5”x21” with the frame. I’m pretty sure that by 1990, these programs were actually inserts in the Times Union or the Daily Gazette or something. I forget. Anyway, this one is $140 plus tax. Local pick up only. DM to claim.

Fantacon was a sci-fi/comic convention in Albany that ran annually from the mid-70s through the late 90s. There doesn’t seem to be a ton of surviving programs or ephemera, but pretty much everything I’ve been able to track down has really rad Albany-centric art like this. This program from 1980 measures approximately. 12.5”x15” with the frame. $130 plus tax. Local pick-up only. DM to claim. This item is not included in the current 30% off promotion.

I’ve had a handful of these in the past, but this is definitely the first new old stock one. It hadn’t even been unrolled until I brought it to be framed, so you know this thing is flawless. Ready to hang, approx. 40” x 29”. $350 plus tax, DM to claim.

Without getting too deep into it right now, I’m stepping back from doing vintage Albany stuff for the foreseeable future, so this is likely the last one of these I’m going to have for sale. Just sayin.

I have been buried DEEP in a research project I’m working on, and I’m not good enough at multitasking to remember that IG exists when I get in the zone. It’s been pretty great actually. I’ve got bills to pay too though, so I definitely need to get back to posting on here. I just picked up a few awesome framed pieces from Fantacon (who remembers Fantacon? 👀) that I’ll be posting here soon. But in the meantime, I’m still here and also f**k ICE.

I was going to bring this one to get autographed by Mickey and the gang over the weekend, but completely forgot. Damn.

I probably should have shared this a while ago, but I forgive myself. This is a book my pal wrote about George Foster Peabody, and you should definitely read it. He spent years researching, and ended up with 500+ pages of something pretty special. I had the honor of designing the whole thing, which I had definitely never done before for something quite this big. It’s paaacked with really amazing photography that Glenn dug up in his research, and the whole thing just ended up coming together into a really beautiful finished product… though I might be slightly biased. If you’re into history, especially the local variety, snag a copy of “Discovering George Foster Peabody” by Glenn Underwood. I’m offering a 50% discount on autographs for the rest of 2025, and I can probably talk Glenn into offering a similar percentage off. Something to think about.
