She’s blind, and music is how she faces her fear.

At the start of this final episode, Laura shares what it feels like knowing her vision may fade completely one day. When she sings, she can stay present.

This journey around Taiwan was never just about distance. It was about people, perspective and strength.

I wheeled around the entire island, but moments like this are what stayed with me.

Travel is not just about what we see, it’s about what we feel.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project, both in front of and behind the camera. Special thanks to Kathleen, Tobias, and Jade for the support and hard work that helped bring this series to life. Thank you to Screen Australia for supporting this project and helping make it possible.

SIGHTSEEING… WITHOUT SIGHT.

Today I’m exploring the city with Laura, who is blind.

No pointing at the skyline. No “look over there”. Every detail has to be described, felt, and imagined.

From touching the shape of the building to translating the view into words, this completely changed how I experience travel.

Sometimes the best views are not seen. They’re felt.

A must do in Taiwan? Apparently!

We headed to Shifen Old Street to launch one of those eco friendly lanterns.

It was magical for about ten seconds and then it started smoking.

Would I recommend it? Just maybe stand back a little.

Almost at the northern tip of TAIWAN.

My wheel decided it had other plans.

The final lookout was stairs only, with no ramp, but getting this far still mattered.

Is there REALLY 711 things to do at 7 Eleven in Taiwan? Let’s find out.

And then the big question…. is there a bathroom and is it accessible?

29/01/2026

Is this the best hot spring in Taiwan?

This was my first day spa experience on the island and I was genuinely impressed. The accessible parking, smooth paths, and proper accessible bathroom made it easy to enjoy the day.

The whole experience cost around $35 AUD per person, which is actually great value.

Come with me as we roll around the hot springs and see how accessible it really is.

Advertised as wheelchair accessible, but it wasn’t safe at all.

A steep ramp, steps into the bathroom, and no safe way in or out of the room.

Accessible should mean safe.

Quadriplegic on a Quad Bike. What Could Go Wrong?

Bikes are one of the leading causes of spinal cord injury.

So naturally, this felt like a sensible idea.

Slow turns, clear instructions, a lot of trust, and zero room for mistakes.

Let’s see how this decision plays out.

Can you use $AUD in TAIWAN?

I’m trying to book a quad bike and suddenly realise I have no local cash.

No card.... just AUD in my wallet.

Cue confused looks, bad maths, and an awkward money lesson in real time.

Let’s find out if this ride is happening.

We came here to reach the southern tip of the island, instead, I rolled away with new friends.

This is my favourite part of travelling.

One thing I love about Taiwan… they pump the petrol for you.

You pay from the window and drive off.

Simple. Inclusive. It just works.

When your hotel room is not actually accessible.

Climb through the bed and improvise.
