"Why don't we make smaller sunscreen blush compact casses?” 🤔
In the production of packaging, there will be a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of at least 10-20K pieces per each material, each color, each design. Since we are founded by a young entrepreneur with a limited financial resources, we have no room for any unnecessarily failure.
Every decision made is crucial because there's no resources to be wasted. Even if we can afford to make financial waste, there would be 3 major impacts:
1. There will be an increase in product cost, ending up pushing the burden on customers to bear the final price higher than should be.
2. If the brand doesn't have enough demand (due to small market share), the product supply may exceed customer's demand. This may cause the stocks to be wasted, since they are unable to be sold in time. It will be expired with out being used.
3. All products creation (in this case, packaging) we introduce into the market is "the world's wastes after it's life cycle". If the product we produce exceeds the customer's needs, the product will be abandoned without doing anygood to the consumers (or the planet).
These 3 main impacts are key factors those AKINS considered when creating products into the market. We release 2 product lines, total of 5 stock keeping unit (SKU). Instead of ordering too much packaging to attract customers, we choose to share packaging quantity (this blue-beige compact cases) that we can afford. For sustainable growth of the brand without pushing burden on customers and the planet.
