Weโ€™ve come a long way. And weโ€™re moving even further. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

We were honoured to welcome Senior Minister (SM) Lee Hsien Loong back to Bishan Depot on 3 August.

A look back: SM Lee first visited Bishan Depot on 26 May 2015, shortly after the replacement of about 96,000 wooden sleepers with concrete ones on the Northโ€“South Line. This major engineering milestone allowed speed restrictions to be lifted, making train journeys faster and smoother. ๐Ÿš†

During that midnight visit, SM Lee was briefed on rail maintenance and renewal works. He also met engineers and technicians working the overnight shift. Throughout the visit, he paid close attention to the engineering challenges faced by our teams and the practical solutions they developed to overcome them. His visit also offered the public a glimpse of the largely unseen work our people carry out through the night to keep Singaporeโ€™s rail network safe and reliable. โš™๏ธ

Fast forward to August 2026: Eleven years later, SM Lee returned to see the progress we have made.

His visit began at the Kaizen Centre, where he learned how the Kaizen movement, introduced by Chairman Seah Moon Ming, has shaped our culture of continuous improvement. Today, our people work together to solve problems, improve processes, and deliver better outcomes every day.

SM Lee showed the same curiosity and focus on engineering excellence throughout this visit, as he engaged with our teams to learn how innovation is driving solutions to operational challenges.

Mr Seah presented SM Lee with a piece of Kaizen calligraphy that he had personally writtenโ€”a meaningful gift that captured the journey of the past eleven years. โœจ

The visit concluded with a tour of Depot 4.0 and a ride on the PHM trainโ€”two showcases of how rail engineering has evolved, from responding to faults to preventing them through automation, sensors, and data-driven technologies. โœ…

As Singapore celebrates 61 years of nation-building, we are proud to reflect on our journey as Singaporeโ€™s pioneer rail operator. ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

Our commitment remains unchanged: to keep building on the strong foundations laid before us, and to deliver a rail system that Singapore can continue to be proud of for generations to come.

We're proud to support Singapore's National Marathon by providing early train services to help runners and supporters get to the start line without breaking a sweat.

As part of SMRTโ€™s media arm, Our Stellar Ace's partnership with the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas, runners and supporters can enjoy complimentary early train services from selected MRT stations on race day of the BYD Marathon, Sunday, 6 December 2026.

No Monday blues, only red-and-white happiness โค๏ธ๐Ÿค

We surprised commuters at Pasir Ris station (๐ŸŸขEW1) with 500 National Day goodie bags! Joining us for the festivities were Grassroots Advisers to Pasir Ris-Changi GRC GROs, Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister, Prime Ministerโ€™s Office, Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for National Development and Mr Desmond Tan ้™ˆๅ›ฝๆ˜Ž, Senior Minister of State, Prime Ministerโ€™s Office, alongside management.

The canvas totes were packed with National Day essentials: a Singapore flag, fan, hand clappers, and old-school favourites like five stones and chapteh (those were the days...๐Ÿคญ).

Commuters were also treated to a rendition of "Home" by Harmonia Ensemble, followed by an upbeat dance performance by preschoolers from MindChamps PreSchool Singapore to the NDP 2026 song, "Sparkle". ๐ŸŽถ

Even August the Merlion, the official NDP mascot, made a special appearance! ๐Ÿคฉ

This National Day, Braddell (๐Ÿ”ด NS18) and Toa Payoh (๐Ÿ”ด NS19) stations have become canvases for our community. ๐Ÿ’— Through a collaboration between , Care Corner SG Seniors Services (CCSS) and the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), two murals now brighten the Passenger Service Centre (PSC) walls at both stations. ๐ŸŽจ

Crafted by CCSS seniors and SUSS students, the murals transform the seniors' personal memories and creativity into art that celebrates the people, places and stories behind Singapore. For many seniors, including those living with dementia, the craft sessions became a meaningful space for connection and self-expression. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿงฉ 'Pieces of Generations' at Braddell station brings together artworks inspired by Singapore's landmarks and symbols, reflecting the seniors' memories and stories.

๐ŸŒบ 'Garden City' at Toa Payoh station honours the generations who helped build modern Singapore through a botanical-themed installation centred on the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

We were delighted to unveil the murals alongside CCSS seniors, and to welcome Minister for National Development Mr Chee Hong Tat ๅพ่Šณ่พพ and Grassroots Adviser Mr Cai Yinzhou ่”กๅผ•่ˆŸ to the celebrations. ๐ŸŽถ

To spread a little extra National Day cheer, we also shared goodie bags with seniors, students and commuters at both stations. ๐Ÿค—

Over five days, we welcomed more than 200 young explorers from MOE Kindergarten, Singapore (Huamin), 7oaks Preschool (Jurong West St 81) and My First Skool (Fajar) to Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub, where questions and exclamations like these were all part of the adventure. ๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸŽ’

Along the way, they learnt how buses help people get from A to B safely, got a behind-the-scenes look at how a transport hub works, and discovered that every trip is better when we put others first. ๐Ÿ’›

One favourite stop? WALL OF KINDNESS! ๐ŸŒˆ Created in partnership with the Singapore Kindness Movement, it gave the kids a chance to share thoughtful messages and little reminders that even the smallest act can make a big difference. โญ
