Just before the new year, let's take a look at what we've achieved in 2021!

Thanks to all of your pledges, 2️⃣1️⃣7️⃣ kg of ocean plastic have been removed from the ocean, which is equivalent to 14,446 bubble tea cups! In addition, 1570 seed packets were distributed to the community in support of Singapore's 30 x 30 vision 🌱

We also organised our annual panel discussion and were delighted to have Minister Grace Fu as our Guest of Honour. Check out the post-event report here 👇🏼

Lastly, we would like to say a big thank you to all of our partners for supporting this year’s campaign and contributing to its success 💯

Let's continue to green the red dot together in 2022 and we wish everyone a happy new year 🌟

Singapore's membership to the Powering Past Coal Alliance was announced during COP26. This is an international group of countries, cities, regions and businesses which encourages the switch from coal to clean energy.

Singapore also signed the Global Coal to Clean Power transition statement, committing to global efforts and cooperation in:
✅ Moving away from unabated* coal power generation in the 2040
✅ Stopping the issuance of new permits
✅ Stop direct government funding for new unabated coal-fired power generation projects globally

*Unabated coal power generators refer to coal-burning power plants that do not use technology to capture the emitted carbon for storage or conversion to other substances.

Singapore becomes first country in Asia to join an alliance pushing for transition from coal to clean energy.. Read more at straitstimes.com.

This success of this conference is critical as it has been deemed to be our last chance at avoiding irreversible damage and keeping global temperature rises well below two degrees.

[The Singapore Food Story]

After the tomato seeds have germinated, the students from Swiss Cottage Secondary School moved the saplings from the egg cartons to vegepods.

The vegepods prevent the soil from contamination while protecting the plants from bugs and harsh weather 🐛☀

Keep your eyes peeled for our next post to see what happens next!

Thanks to the efforts of the students from Swiss Cottage Secondary School, we get to witness the entire journey of a tomato plant's growth from start to finish!

With the seeds from our distribution drive, the students first carefully nursed them in the school's vegepods and egg cartons. Stick around for the next post to see them germinate 😉
