📍Acadia National Park, what a beautiful place! 🌲🏕️
We hiked the Ocean Path Trail, visited Thunder Hole, hiked the Jordan Pond Trail and enjoyed lunches on the rocks with ocean and lake views. We never realized just how beautiful Maine is!
Our favorite part of our visit though has been watching our kids grow ❤️ It’s only been 3,5 weeks since we left home to begin this new adventure, yet somehow they already seem taller, more confident and more grown up. It’s amazing to see how completely at home they feel in nature, turning every pile of rocks, cluster of trees and open space into their own little hangout spot 😉
Their highlight was without a doubt collecting their 25th Junior Ranger badge 😉 All proud!
We Dutchies are pretty modest, so walking into the visitor center with two kids covered in badges felt uncomfortable 😅
But then we realized: Juul and Giv aren't collecting badges, they're collecting memories. Every badge tells a story. So for once, we decided to put our Dutch modesty aside and be proud right along with them 😉
One more thing we like to say before we go: everyone we’ve met over the past few days has been incredibly kind and welcoming. From fellow campers who stopped by to chat, brought us firewood, or even left a sweet card under our windshield wiper with 'Thanks for excisting!' (🥹❤️) to the friendly park rangers, people here have made us feel so welcome, thank you so much!! ❤️
