Did Poland actually win or lose the 1945 border trade? 🇵🇱🤔
When the borders were redrawn after WWII, Poland lost the historic eastern cradle of Lwów (Lviv) to the Soviet Union. In return, it gained industrialized German territories in the west, like Wrocław.
🗺️If you walk through Lviv today, the architecture, the market squares, and the cathedrals look almost identical to Kraków. The Polish soul of the city is still written in stone.
But it makes you wonder: What if the borders never changed? Would Lwów still be Poland's ultimate cultural capital today, or did gaining the western powerhouses turn out better for modern Poland?
