Argocopter AH-23 | 2026 Production Model – What's Changed?
In this video, Krzysztof Wronowski — head of Manufaktura Lotnicza — walks you through the key engineering changes introduced in the 2026 certification model of the Argocopter AH-23 helicopter, compared to the original 2023 prototype.
After several hundred hours of flight testing and operational experience, the team identified critical aerodynamic issues and responded with major structural improvements:
🔧 Redesigned tail fairing – shaped like a trumpet bell for clean, laminar airflow
📐 Tail extended by 35 cm – placing it beyond the aerodynamic wake of the wide fuselage
⚖️ 6 kg lighter tail – achieved through thin-sheet aluminum rolling technology instead of solid aluminum tubing
💨 Eliminated tail buffeting – a phenomenon occurring at speeds above 150 km/h
🚁 Top speed increased to ~210 km/h – with further improvements planned
The cabin remains wider than the Robinson R22 by 20 cm, and every change is backed by aerodynamic calculations and real-world testing.

Argocopter AH-23 | Model Produkcyjny 2026 – Co się zmieniło?
W tym materiale Krzysztof Wronowski — szef Manufaktury Lotniczej — omawia kluczowe zmiany inżynieryjne wprowadzone w modelu certyfikacyjnym 2026 śmigłowca Argocopter AH-23, w porównaniu do prototypu z 2023 roku.
🚁 Prędkość przelotowa do ~210 km/h – z planowanymi dalszymi ulepszeniami
Kabina pozostaje szersza od Robinsona R22 o 20 cm, a każda zmiana poparta jest obliczeniami aerodynamicznymi i testami w rzeczywistych warunkach.

Three years have passed since the launch of the AH-22, during which time it has undergone hundreds of hours of rigorous testing in extreme conditions, from harsh winters to scorching summers.

The entire ARGO Aero team has been working on the final design and functionality of the AH 23.

Our time spent in the helicopter has revealed the full spectrum of its capabilities and areas on which we need to focus more.

Before you is the result of thousands of hours of work at the drawing board, as well as fatigue testing in laboratories and in the air.

The AH 23 is currently undergoing the DAeC certification process in Germany.

Below are the most significant changes compared to the 2024 model.

The 2026 model is 20 kg lighter than the prototype.

We improved the main rotor blades, which now have a variable geometric profile and twist. They are also a few centimeters longer and, most importantly, fold easily in just a few minutes.

The tail rotor blades have a different, more efficient profile that is also quieter.

We reduced the rotational speed of the tail gearbox to make it quieter.

The tail boom has been lengthened for better stability, and it is made from a material that is 6 kg lighter.

The helicopter’s cowlings are more aerodynamic and several kilograms lighter.

We developed a new, lighter fuel tank with an increased capacity of 100 liters.

We replaced the engine mount with a stiffer one and moved it 5 cm toward the center of gravity. This eliminated the mounting bracket and saved valuable weight.

We redesigned the instrument panel to meet certification requirements by adding redundant circular instruments and adjustable cold-air vents.

For better operating comfort, we raised and angled the top panel and, for aesthetic appeal, stitched anthracite Alcantara with white thread.

The avionics and electronics systems have an independent UPS power supply capable of operating autonomously for up to 30 minutes.

We filled the seats with memory foam and angled them to provide the pilot with a more ergonomic seating position.

We're now certain that this is the best-designed and best-built ultralight helicopter in the world!
