Hunza Valley, a popular tourist spot, is located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. As summer holidays are here, many tourists make their way to the valley to unwind.

If you’re planning a trip to the northern areas of Pakistan, Hunza is a great destination. It is also known to be safe for women if you are planning to travel alone or in groups. The literacy rate in the valley is above 95% and the best time to visit is between April and October. However, it is recommended to avoid during June and August as the place is swamped with tourists.

Skardu and Gilgit saw massive flight operations, at par with major cities of Pakistan, when nearly 16 PIA flights operated to and from both the cities.

The airport saw hustle bustle with flights continuously arriving and departing at the same time. In a video released by official spokesperson of PIA depicted flights arriving while a flight departing in the background making northern areas skies busy.

PIA operated eight flights each to Gilgit and Islamabad airports in a day, highest number of flights ever operated in a day in country's history. Official Spokesperson of PIA called the expansion in operations in line with the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan to promote tourism in Pakistan.

He said that to fulfill the vision and in the greater national interest, PIA is making all out efforts to provide convenient travel services to the people of the region and to promote domestic tourism in Pakistan.

There is very good news for tourists, the international airline Fly Dubai has submitted an application to start Skardu operations.

Fly Dubai will be able to start operations in Skardu after formal approval from Pakistan Civil Aviation and Dubai Civil Aviation.

In response to rising demand from domestic tourists looking to visit gorgeous Gilgit Baltistan (GB) during the current tourism season, private airlines are planning to provide direct flights to Skardu shortly.

The demand for air travel has recently increased dramatically since many people from all over the country desire to view the region’s lush green valleys, meadows, flowing waterfalls, and snow-capped mountains.

The authorities are providing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to private airlines to meet the growing demand for air travel and boost tourism in the region. Raja Nasir Ali Khan, the Minister for Tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, confirmed the news, saying, “Air Blue is set to commence flights for Skardu from mid-August.”

He told the press that North Air has recently received NOC to run its operations. “If any private airline wants to come to GB, we will provide complete support,” he added, adding that the PIA had already been flying multiple flights to Skardu every week from other towns throughout Pakistan.

He noted that Faisalabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Sialkot were among the places from which the PIA operated flights to Skardu. Every week, three flights from Lahore and Karachi, two each from Faisalabad and Sialkot, one from Multan, and one from Islamabad, were conducted based on demand.
