"As Women’s Month ends, I celebrate the incredible women of Harbor Star and the behind-the-scenes team who made it possible. Despite being a minority in maritime, our women have shown their voices are strong.

We started with a cozy get-together, sharing good company, food, and laughter. We also hosted a session on women’s health and rights, reaffirming our support.
A big thank you to my HRDM Team for your dedication—it made everything possible.

A special highlight was our Empowerment Diaries, showcasing stories of strength and perseverance, proving women shine when given the chance.

"In the culture I grew up with here in the Philippines, women have often been seen as weak or mostly depends on their husbands. But with modernization and the gradual change in society, many women today are given opportunities to prove their abilities and show what they are truly capable of.

I chose the field of accounting because I believe it is a path that can help strengthen my confidence—especially in decision-making and developing strong leadership skills. Before, leadership was often associated only with men; they were seen as the only ones capable of running businesses and making sound decisions. But now, there are programs and initiatives that help women develop leadership and management skills. Combined with determination and creativity, women today are able to stand alongside men and excel just as well.

Here at Harbor Star, even though most employees are men, I genuinely see the respect they give to every woman they work with. They do not underestimate us simply because we are women. Instead, they value our contributions and recognize our strengths. In this company, I have found a deeper understanding of equality—where a person’s ability is not defined by gender, but by how they dedicate themselves to their work.

I’ve learned that as long as you do your job wholeheartedly and remain committed to your goals, you will eventually achieve the dreams meant for you. Gender does not set your limits; your passion, determination, and hard work do."

"As a working mom, my journey has not always been easy. I have faced struggles that have affected me mentally, emotionally, and psychologically, even if many people do not see them. Yet, as a woman of faith, I believe that there is always sunshine after the rain. I hold on to my favorite Bible verse from Psalm 55:22, “Throw your burden on HIM, and He will sustain you,” which reminds me that no matter how heavy the challenges, I am never alone.
