PNP DELIVERS TWIN BLOWS TO INSURGENCY, ILLEGAL DRUGS IN SAMAR

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., intensified its campaign against insurgency and illegal drugs as Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) recorded two Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members voluntarily returning to the fold and the arrest of a High-Value Individual (HVI) in separate operations conducted in Northern Samar and Samar on July 10 to 11, 2026.

On July 10, 2026, personnel of the 804th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 (RMFB-8) and the Bobon Municipal Police Station facilitated the voluntary surrender of alias “Tony,” a 30-year-old Filipino farmer from Victoria, Northern Samar. The following day, personnel of the Silvino Lubos Municipal Police Station and the 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (NSPMFC) also assisted in the surrender of alias “Vincent,” a 27-year-old Filipino farmer from Silvino Lubos, Northern Samar. The former CTG members are now undergoing documentation and assessment before their enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which supports the reintegration of former rebels into mainstream society.

In a separate anti-illegal drug operation on July 11, 2026, police arrested alias “Jact,” a 48-year-old Filipino male classified as a High-Value Individual, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Andres, Catbalogan City, Samar. The operation was conducted by the Catbalogan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Team and the Samar Police Provincial Office Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in joint operations with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Samar. Authorities confiscated seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, which were properly marked and inventoried in the presence of the required witnesses. Appropriate criminal charges are now being prepared against the suspect.

These accomplishments underscore the PNP Focused Agenda—a strategic framework for institutional transformation designed to make police service faster, fairer, and truly felt by the people. At the heart of this agenda are key priorities that define the course of the PNP, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing sustained law enforcement efforts to weaken insurgency, curb the illegal drug trade, and safeguard communities.

The successful surrender of former CTG members and the arrest of a High-Value Individual demonstrate the PNP’s sustained commitment to addressing security threats through focused law enforcement and community engagement.

PNP HUNTS DOWN REGION 2’s MOST WANTED FOR STATUTORY R**E CASE

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the command of PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., successfully arrested the Regional Level No. 4 Most Wanted Person in Police Regional Office 2 during a manhunt operation conducted on June 11, 2026, in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, marking another significant accomplishment in the organization’s continuing campaign against fugitives charged with heinous crimes.

The 29-year-old Filipino male suspect, a laborer from Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for three counts of statutory r**e issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 30, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The warrant carried no recommended bail. The operation was led by the Aritao Municipal Police Station with the support of the 115th Special Action Company, 11th Special Action Battalion of the Special Action Force, and the Provincial Intelligence Team of the Regional Intelligence Unit 2.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Aritao Municipal Police Station while the required documentation is being completed before his turnover to the court that issued the warrant.

“The arrest of wanted persons is a clear demonstration of the Philippine National Police’s unwavering commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure that those accused of serious crimes answer before our courts. We will continue to pursue every fugitive through lawful and sustained police operations,” said PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.

PRO7 INTENSIFIES WEEK-LONG OPERATIONS, RECORDS 446 ARRESTS ACROSS CENTRAL VISAYAS

The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) recorded 446 arrests across Central Visayas from May 31 to June 6, 2026, following sustained regional law enforcement operations against illegal drugs, wanted persons, illegal gambling, and loose fi****ms in support of national policing priorities and ongoing public safety initiatives.

Anti-illegal drug operations accounted for 216 arrests, with authorities confiscating 797.57 grams of suspected shabu valued at PhP5,423,476.00 based on the Standard Drug Price (SDP), reflecting continued efforts to disrupt drug supply chains in the region.

In intensified manhunt operations, PRO7 units arrested 113 wanted persons, composed of 21 Most Wanted Persons and 92 Other Wanted Persons, underscoring sustained efforts to ensure fugitives are brought to justice.

The campaign against illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of 108 individuals and the seizure of PhP14,198.00 in gambling proceeds, while operations against loose fi****ms led to the arrest of 30 violators and the confiscation of 51 fi****ms, one explosive device, and 100 rounds of ammunition, preventing potential use of unlicensed weapons in criminal activities.

Acting Regional Director PBGEN Arnold E. Abad emphasized that these accomplishments align with broader peace and order objectives and reflect the organization’s commitment to delivering effective police service.

“These operational gains demonstrate PRO7’s sustained and uncompromising campaign against all forms of criminality that threaten the safety of Central Visayas communities. This also supports the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Safer Cities Initiative under Secretary Jonvic Remulla, while embodying the Chief PNP’s mantra of ‘Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,’ ensuring that police service is fast, honest, and truly felt by the public.
