📸 CELEBRATING THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY

On August 19, 2026, Quezon City Photo Club (QCPC) and FPPI – Fashion Photographers of the Philippines, Inc. proudly join photographers, videographers, visual artists, models, creatives, and photography enthusiasts around the world in celebrating World Photography Day.

World Photography Day is an annual celebration honoring the power of photography as an art form, a means of communication, a record of history, and a powerful way of telling stories.

Photography allows us to preserve moments that may never happen again. It documents our people, culture, traditions, places, celebrations, struggles, achievements, and everyday life. Through one photograph, a moment becomes a memory—and a memory becomes part of our history.

For QCPC and FPPI, World Photography Day is more than a celebration of cameras and photographs. It is a celebration of photographers and the stories they tell.

🌈 WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY 2026
“COLORS OF MY CITY”
This year's celebration invites everyone to see the city through a creative lens.
CAPTURE THE BEAUTY.
CAPTURE THE CULTURE.
CAPTURE THE PEOPLE.
CAPTURE THE PLACES.
CAPTURE THE MOMENTS.
Show us the colors, character, energy, diversity, and soul of your city.
Whether it is a spectacular skyline, a busy street, a quiet neighborhood, a local market, a cultural celebration, a fashion moment, a portrait, an ordinary day, or an unforgettable scene—every city has a story waiting to be photographed.
THEME: “COLORS OF MY CITY”
Show us your city through your lens and tell a story in every frame.
Because sometimes, the most powerful photographs are not simply beautiful.
They make us feel something.

🌍 WHY WE CELEBRATE WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY

World Photography Day is observed every August 19 in recognition of the historic announcement of the Daguerreotype photographic process by the French government in 1839.

The Daguerreotype, associated with Louis Daguerre and Nicéphore Niépce, represented a major milestone in the development of photography and changed the way people could preserve and share visual representations of the world.

Since then, photography has evolved dramatically—from early photographic processes to film cameras, digital cameras, smartphones, social media, artificial intelligence, and today's rapidly changing visual media landscape.

Yet one thing remains unchanged:

A photograph has the power to tell a story.
Photography has influenced art, fashion, journalism, science, advertising, culture, history, education, business, and personal expression.
It gives people a voice without necessarily saying a single word.
