Proper Packaging Guidelines for International Shipping
Your cargo goes through multiple stages before reaching its destination—from supplier handling and warehouse receiving to loading, international transit, customs processing, unloading, and final release.
That’s why proper packaging starts before your cargo reaches NEXUS Logistics.
📦 YOUR PACKAGING MATTERS
Customers and suppliers are responsible for ensuring that cargo is appropriately packed according to the nature, weight, size, fragility, and value of the goods.
For better protection, consider:
✅ Strong, properly sized cartons
✅ Bubble wrap and sufficient internal cushioning
✅ Reinforced corners and edges
✅ Proper sealing with heavy-duty tape
✅ Waterproof protection when necessary
✅ Wooden crates for fragile or high-value cargo when appropriate
✅ Pallets for heavy, bulky, or multiple-carton shipments
✅ Clear and correct shipping marks and labels
⚠️ FRAGILE? PACK WITH EXTRA CARE.
A “FRAGILE” sticker alone does not protect your cargo.
Glass, electronics, machinery, collectibles, ceramics, furniture, and other delicate goods should have sufficient internal and external protection appropriate for international transportation.
📸 TIP: Ask your supplier to take clear photos of the item and completed packaging before dispatch. These may be useful for documentation and verification.
📦 INADEQUATE PACKAGING
If cargo arrives at our warehouse with packaging that appears damaged, weak, open, wet, crushed, or otherwise inadequate, NEXUS Logistics may recommend or require reinforcement, repacking, crating, or other protective measures when available.
Additional packaging materials, labor, crating, or repacking services may be subject to additional charges.
⚠️ Acceptance of cargo by the warehouse does not automatically mean that its packaging is adequate for every risk associated with international transportation.
🛡️ PACKAGING ≠ INSURANCE
Proper packaging helps reduce risk, but it does not replace cargo insurance.
We strongly recommend requesting insurance for eligible high-value, fragile, or commercially important shipments before dispatch.
Any loss or damage claim remains subject to the applicable NEXUS Logistics Terms & Conditions, insurance policy/certificate when insured, carrier conditions, documentation requirements, exclusions, and claims assessment.
