Marinduque Center of Fun: Farm, Food and Faith Tourism

A 4D 3N itinerary was prepared for us by the DOT Team Mimaropa to experience Farm, Food and Faith Tourism in Marinduque, the heart of the Philippines.

Our group experienced the warm hospitality of the Marinduqueños.

Fun fact： Did you know that Marinduque is the Butterfly Capital of the Philippines. 80% of the total butterfly exports of the Philippines come from this province.

This trip was also my first time to take the RO-RO . So now I know. 😊

It’s the same old familiar Hong Kong that we love and hate. The delicious food and good shopping bargains are still there. So are the locals’ brand of customer service attitude, or the lack thereof. Oh well, we still take everything with a grain of salt.

I have heard so much about this place so when my athlete-daughter proposed a hiking trip to me, I immediately said YES!

But not until we were 10 minutes into the trek did I realize what I got myself into. Masungi Georeserve, you are not for the faint of heart! Good thing I had some practice a month ago in Mis Occ and Sox.

It was a cool and windy amihan day, which was good since we started at noon but didn’t sweat as much.

Now I understand why Masungi won so much international acclaim - from the 2018 UNDP Pathfinders Award to the 2022 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action Award and the list goes on. It is proof that tourism and sustainability can go hand-in-hand.
