Ozamiz City is standing among Northern Mindanaoโs leading component cities in terms of recorded financial resources.
Based on the 2025 Statement of Receipts and Expenditures (SRE) of the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), Ozamiz recorded โฑ357.98 million in total sources of income, placing second among the seven component cities in Region X.
Only Valencia City, Bukidnon posted a higher figure at โฑ408.55 million. Ozamiz was followed by El Salvador City at โฑ296.50 million, Malaybalay at โฑ265.73 million, Gingoog at โฑ216.31 million, Tangub at โฑ205.37 million, and Oroquieta at โฑ115.81 million.
For Ozamiz, the figure reflects not just its financial position, but the cityโs capacity to turn public resources into local development. This builds on a continuing Asenso leadership that began under former Mayor and now Cong. Ando Oaminal, continued under former Mayor and now Asenso Pinoy Representative Atty. Indy Oaminal, and is now being carried forward by Mayor Sam Norman Fuentes, with the support of Governor Henry S. Oaminal.
Through this continuity, good governance is translated into programs, projects, and services โ from infrastructure, healthcare and education to agriculture, livelihood, social protection, tourism, and other initiatives that directly benefit Ozamiznons.
The impact is felt in everyday life: better roads improve mobility, educational assistance opens opportunities, healthcare support eases the burden on families, and investments in infrastructure and business help create jobs and livelihoods.
For Asenso, it is about making every public resource count โ turning it into better services, more opportunities, and real improvements in the lives of Ozamiznons.
