| The Bureau of Customs (BOC), in close collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), successfully prevented the entry of unlawfully imported agricultural products into the country.
The unlawful importation of shipment from Thailand, consisting of 3,200 cartons of fresh oranges valued at PHP 8.422 million, was prevented in Manila International Container Port (MICP) after finding that the same is not covered by the required import sanitary clearance from the Bureau of Plant Industry.

#𝐁𝐎𝐂𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 | In preparation for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Recertification Audit, The Bureau of Customs – Collection District XII underwent a successful Internal Quality Audit (IQA) from 12-14 August 2024.
During the opening conference, representatives from each party introduced their respective teams. Following this, Deputy Collector for Administration, Port of Batangas Joseph G. Escasio, the Lead Auditor, presented a detailed outline of the 3-day audit plan. He also emphasized the critical importance of aligning the Port’s processes with ISO standards.
In line with Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio’s 5-Point Priority Program, led by Acting District Collector Maita S. Acevedo, the Collection District XII remains committed to continuous improvement and upholding the highest standards in customs administration.

| In a significant stride against illegal drug trafficking, the Bureau of Customs Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), successfully intercepted two passengers attempting to smuggle illegal drugs worth PhP56,557,000 during back-to-back operations at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City on August 13 and 14, 2024.

| In line with its bid to promote mutual understanding and strengthen harmonious relationships with its industry partners, the Bureau of Customs Collection District X, under the leadership of District Collector Alexandra Y. Lumontad, welcomed Nestle Philippines Inc. for a port visit to the Subport of Mindanao Container Terminal in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, on August 1, 2024.
Representatives from Nestle, including Sarah Jane Bayon and Jhoden Dacaymat, Import and Export Executives, and Fianne Macandog, Procurement Executive, along with other employees, were provided with an overview of the customs procedures for containerized cargoes at the Mindanao Container Terminal by Deputy Collector for Assessment Jesus Llorando, a well-known subject matter expert at the Bureau of Customs.
In her message, District Collector Lumontad expressed her gratitude to Nestle Philippines Inc. for its consistent contributions to the port's revenue collection, making it one of the top importers. In return, the Port of Cagayan de Oro assured that it will heed stakeholder feedback to provide efficient customs services.
This initiative aligns with the directive of Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio to strengthen Customs-stakeholder partnerships, emphasizing the importance of feedback and partner evaluation in guiding the BOC’s policies and procedures.
