Hi, My name is Maria Angela L. Abellera, from Makilala, North Cotabato. I am a Deaf Filipino, Vice President for the Gifted Deaf Of the Kidapawan City Organization, 2017. and well a passionate advocate for the Deaf and WowLeap North COTABATO 2024.🩷 Now I'm volunteer for my new organization in Cotabato Province.
I am a passionate advocate for Filipino Sign Language (FSL) and deaf inclusivity.
For Assistive Technologies (AT), I use various technologies to support accessible communication, teaching, and learning for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. These include PowerPoint presentations with pictures, visuals, and text to make lessons easier to understand; captioned videos to provide access to spoken information; Live Transcribe for real-time speech-to-text communication during meetings and events; recorded lessons in FSL to create accessible learning materials; and communication through chat, text messages, and visual materials to ensure clear and effective interaction. These assistive technologies help promote accessibility, inclusion, participation, and equal educational opportunities for both Deaf and hearing individuals. Through the use of these tools, I strive to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.
