Three days, that’s all it took for Jomalig Island to feel like forever. Time moved differently there; each sunrise lingered, each wave seemed to whisper peace. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget the rush of everyday life and reminds you what it means to truly breathe.

All your worries fade with every second spent on its golden sands. The world beyond the shore stops mattering — it’s just you, the sea, and the serenity that wraps around you like a warm embrace.

Jomalig isn’t just a destination; it’s a refuge. A reminder that sometimes, it’s okay to let go, to feel, and to simply exist.

I’ll be back soon, I promise.

Thank you Jomalig Island Getaway 🥹

Teaching While Learning: A Two-Week Journey Abroad

Spending two weeks in a different country isn’t just a change of scenery it’s an experience that transforms you in quiet, meaningful ways. Being here in India, immersed in a culture both vibrant and gracious, has taught me lessons far beyond the classroom.

As a guest, I’ve been met with kindness at every turn. The people are genuinely polite and incredibly hospitable, making me feel welcomed and cared for in ways I hadn’t expected. Their warmth has become a steady comfort, softening the challenges that naturally come with being far from home.

One of the few things I wish I could adapt to more easily is the food. The richness and intensity of Indian cuisine are deeply tied to its culture, and while I admire it, I find myself struggling with the spice. If only I were a spice lover, I might be able to say my India experience is complete. Yet, even without the fiery flavors, I am genuinely enjoying the place I’m in physically, emotionally, and professionally.

India is not just a location on a map it’s a lesson in resilience, hospitality, and openness. And though I came here to teach, I leave each day having learned just as much.
