The app has been released on both app stores and is available for you to take advantage of.

How can it add value to your life?

Well, as a passenger, you get to finally negotiate and agree on a price BEFORE the ride starts. You offer a price and then the driver can make a counteroffer. If you two are happy, you confirm the ride. You know EXACTLY how much you are to pay and you can see their location. No more guessing games! Yes, I hate that too.

As a driver, you get to make some coins whenever you want, no strings attached. You can start today and you don't even have to look for passengers because they will find you on the app. All you need is a vehicle (yours or borrowed) and a licence. Yes, that's it. Like really, that's it.
What other options give you this opportunity?

And since I want to help you start your side hustle, I am not charging any commisson right now. I aim to provide value to you first by making this opportunity free while I can and maybe in return you can show support by using the app and spreading the word. Thats a generous trade dont you think?

You and I both know, that making a living has become extremely difficult, but it's a reality we have to face every day. Help me help you and maybe we can make it just a tiny bit easier.

We are aiming to integrate payment via card from within the app itself.
You wouldn't have to carry money around and you would be able to pay exact amounts and also give exact change, (keeping your customers happy). This makes it much safer and much more convenient for both passenger and driver.

Since our emails are not getting replies, does anyone know anyone in BSP we can contact??

Options for a side job

Cost of living has risen and unfortunately the standard of living has dropped. Living on a single income is an absolute struggle. It shouldn’t, but sadly, that’s the reality and it doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon.

Let’s talk solutions. Right now, what are your options that don’t require too much capital or time?

Selling loose products?
Hard to find good products and not enough turnover. Most of the products are cheap stuff which won’t last, and the expensive stuff people would most likely get from the big shops anyway.

Buai market?
Good idea which could be profitable, but again, finding stock is an issue and we haven’t even talked about setting up a stall. You would have to have a setup and have someone selling full time. It may work if you can solve these issues, but it can be costly and will take time to set up. What we want is to have a solution now, something that can put money in your pocket in the minimum amount of time.

Drive?
If you have a car, or could borrow one, this would put money in your pocket on the same day. The problem is finding customers and determining what a fair price is.
One approach is you could drive around and find customers, but how would people know you are operating as a taxi service if your car doesn’t have markings? Driving around also uses extra fuel (which costs). Then next thing is if you found them, how would you set a price that would be fair for both both driver and passenger and they both not feel ripped off?

This is where the GoKam Taxis app solves this for you. The customers find drivers who indicate that they are available to be booked, so drivers never have to worry about looking for passengers – they find and book you on the app. This way also saves fuel.
Also, you both agree on a price beforehand, so there is no feelings of either party getting cheated.
Drivers provide the service, and gets paid the same day. As long as you have a licence and a vehicle (either borrowed or owned), you can drive. No other capital needed and it works anywhere in PNG. It's a customer-collecting machine working for you 24hrs/day, 7 days a week. What other options offer this advantage to both the customer (cost and convenience) and to the driver (freedom, agree on price)?

If you're tired of empty pockets and curious how to start as a driver or register as a future passenger, just message. No obligation whatsoever.

Opportunity to test app pre-release!
If you had submitted the Early-Bird registration, you will get an email with details if you would like to test the pre-release of the app.

It's a great chance to get familiar with the functions both as a driver and passenger. Check what it looks like, what buttons to press and practice how you will be using it to make your side-coins (as a driver) or booking a ride (as a passenger). And since it's testing, there's nothing to risk.
Use is straightfoward, but a document is available for those needing a bit more guidance.

Early-bird registration is still open for those interested, but it's drawing to a close!

With the cost of fuel skyrocketing, here are three tips to improve your fuel efficiency.
1. Reduce your car's weight
Karkaraim ol samting nabaut blo go klostu tasol ya, luuusim. Yu no torosel na bai yu karim haus go kam. The more weight you carry, the more fuel you use.

2. Chill with the A/C
Generally, at slow speeds it's more efficient to cool down with the windows down. Whether you want to do that is a different story. However, on open roads or highway, windows up and aircon is probably smartest. But mi just no save how bai you tromoi han lo ol lain lo rot sapos window stap antap.

3. Half fill your tank
Tim Trudgian, a research fellow in mathematics at Australian National University did a study on whether filling up your tank saves money. He finds that it depends on what you drive. The general rule is that if your car carries 80-90L of fuel, fill up half way. If yu ronim wanpla sedan, better to fill up the tank.

However! Local conditions also play a part, and with the current state of fuel uncertainty, sometime it's best just to fill up. If, however, you get caught in another sudden fuel crisis with an empty tank and you need to get somewhere, well, you know what app to use 😉

Ok, my mistake.
I was going to release this later to you guys first, but I accidentally started running this in an ad which I've since taken down for now.

So I'm posting this here as I originally wanted to, to give you guys a chance to make some bucks before the slots get filled by others reserving a space.

Take a look at the videos and if you have questions, post in the comments and I'll answer.

Ideally I wanted to offer you guys before everyone else, the chance to reserve your spot to make a few bucks when you want. Registration is free, so what do you have to lose? Just try it once, and if you don't like it, no problem, there's no commitment. After you make some coins however, and you want to continue, even better. Signup takes 2 minutes at https://emnauits.formaloo.me/gokamtaxis

We tend to forget that drivers are also people who are also working to feed their families just like us. They work an honest job and deserve the same respect as anyone else. Here are some ways you can show your consideration for them:

- Be ready for your taxi when it arrives. Don't make them wait unless you are paying for their time.
- Be honest when booking about number of people travelling and luggage amounts to be carried if applicable
- Be polite to your driver – and expect them to be professional in return
- Don’t smoke in your taxi
- Don’t use profane language in your taxi
- Ask before you eat or drink in the cab
- Don’t leave rubbish behind in the cab
- Be patient – drivers can get stuck in traffic

Basically – respect the taxi as your driver’s office – that’s what it is.
