A lot of people assume importing a vehicle from Japan is quick and easy β just pay, wait a few days, and boom, itβs at your doorstep. But in reality, the process is far from simple.
From choosing the right vehicle at auction, arranging for export, handling shipping logistics, to navigating the complex customs clearance in Papua New Guinea (especially at ports like Lae), importing takes time, patience, and money. And donβt forget the extra costs β customs duty, GST, port fees, quarantine cleaning, inspection, and registration. It all adds up.
What makes it more amusing is that just when youβve almost forgotten about the vehicle you paid for weeks (or months) ago β you get the call: "Your car has arrived!"
So if you're planning to import, be prepared for a waiting game. But when it finally arrives, the excitement is worth it β especially knowing youβve made it through one of the trickiest parts of owning your dream ride.
Patience isnβt just a virtue. Itβs part of the process. π―π΅ππ΅π¬
