Cathedral Cove update 3:30pm Thursday 9th April:
We have been advised by DOC that the track will close from 5pm 10th April until an assessment can be undertaken on Monday 13th April. A significant Swell of between 4-8 metres is due from Saturday morning through Sunday evening in front of the cyclone, so please even if weather looks good on Saturday this is an extreme weather event and very dangerous to even attempt the walk.
The last park and ride service will be at up 3pm tomorrow afternoon and services finishing for the weekend at 5pm

Update 27th March 2:30pm:
The Department of Conservation have just advised that while there are a couple of small slips, the Mautohe Cathedral Cove track will reopen at 3pm today , The Park and Ride service will remain off the road but will be back in operation from 9am tomorrow.

Wednesday 25th March update:
We have been advised by the Department of Conservation that due to the incoming Heavy rain warning that the Cathedral Cove Track will be closed from 5pm today the 25th March and will be closed all of Thursday the 26th with an inspection planned for 9am Friday the 27th and a hopeful reopening around Midday the 27th.
Stay safe out there and please do not attempt the walk while the track is closed.

Update Monday 16th February The Department of Conservation have walked and assessed the track as safe to reopen at 08:30 today.
