🇦🇺 Ferragosto, but make it different 🎿❄️

While everyone back home is at the beach, we decided to spend Ferragosto skiing in New Zealand 🇳🇿⛷️
Not exactly the traditional Italian way to celebrate… but we’re definitely not complaining 😂

Mentre in Italia sono tutti al mare, noi abbiamo deciso di passare Ferragosto sugli sci in Nuova Zelanda 🇳🇿⛷️
Non proprio il classico Ferragosto italiano… ma non ci lamentiamo di certo 😂

🇦🇺 The last bit of bad luck before Perth…

Just a couple of hours from Geraldton, one of our rear tyres decided it had had enough and completely blew out. 💥

And because apparently one problem wasn’t enough, once we took the wheel off we discovered that one of the wheel studs had snapped too. 🙃

Luckily, we made it to Geraldton and found an awesome mechanic and tyre shop who helped us out, replaced what needed replacing and got us safely back on the road. Absolute legends. 🙏

And that was WALL-E’s last little adventure before finally making it back to Perth. 🇦🇺🚙

11 months. 40,000 km. Some breakdowns, questionable decisions and somehow… we made it! 😂

🇮🇹 L’ultima disavventura prima di Perth…

A un paio d’ore da Geraldton, una delle nostre gomme posteriori ha deciso di averne abbastanza ed è esplosa completamente. 💥

E perché evidentemente un problema non era abbastanza, una volta smontata abbiamo scoperto che anche uno dei prigionieri della ruota era rotto. 🙃

Per fortuna siamo riusciti ad arrivare a Geraldton, dove abbiamo trovato un meccanico e un gommista fantastici che ci hanno dato una mano, sostituito il necessario e rimesso in strada in sicurezza. Dei veri grandi. 🙏

E questa è stata l’ultima disavventura di WALL-E prima di arrivare finalmente a Perth. 🇦🇺🚙

11 mesi. 40.000 km. Qualche problema, decisioni discutibili e, contro ogni aspettativa… ce l’abbiamo fatta! 😂

1. Survive a beach day in Western Australia without getting stuck.

Mission failed ❌

2. Keep the BBQ and beers safe.

Mission accomplished ✅

You think you’re just going for a relaxing beach day with friends…
but Western Australia always has its own way of doing things 😂

Tu pensi andare semplicemente a fare una grigliata tranquilla in spiaggia con gli amici…
ma il Western Australia ha sempre il suo modo particolare di fare le cose 😂

Financially responsible? absolutely not.

2 planes.
1 idea.
And eventually… this questionable AWD called WALL-E.

We had everything we needed:
a lot of optimism and somehow enough confidence to start driving across Australia 😂

This is basically how the whole chaos started ✨

Avevamo tutto quello che ci serviva:
un sacco di ottimismo e apparentemente abbastanza sicurezza da iniziare a guidare attraverso l’Australia 😂

We landed in Australia in September with a pretty simple plan:

buy a cheap AWD, build it slowly, and try to make it all the way around the country 🦘

WALL-E wasn’t exactly the dream setup
She was just the slightly questionable 4WD we could actually afford 😭
…but we got attached to her in the end 😂

At first, we had almost nothing:
• an inflatable mattress
• way too much confidence
• and absolutely no idea what we were doing

Over the months, we slowly started adding things (we’ll get to that soon…)

Now the goal is simple:
15,000+ km around Australia!

Beaches, outback roads, wildlife, breakdowns, bad decisions and hopefully a few good memories too.

Let’s see if WALL-E survives the lap! 🚐

Siamo arrivati in Australia a settembre con un piano abbastanza semplice:

comprare un AWD economico, sistemarlo poco alla volta e provare a fare il giro completo dell’Australia 🇦🇺🦘

WALL-E non era esattamente il nostro setup dei sogni.
Era semplicemente il 4x4 un po’ discutibile che potevamo permetterci 😭
…ma alla fine ci siamo affezionati 😂

All’inizio avevamo praticamente niente:
• un materassino gonfiabile
• decisamente troppa sicurezza
• e zero idea di quello che stavamo facendo

Con il tempo abbiamo iniziato ad aggiungere qualcosa (ma ci arriveremo presto…)

Ora l’obiettivo è semplice:
15.000+ km attorno all’Australia!

Spiagge, outback, animali, guasti, pessime decisioni e — si spera — anche qualche bel ricordo.

Vediamo se WALL-E sopravvive al Giro!

🇬🇧 What started as a quick drive because of the rain…
turned into getting stuck over an hour away from the nearest paved road.

• no recovery gear
• no signal
• no experience
• and absolutely too much confidence 🇦🇺

(“Holy cow” = polite Italian panic)

🇮🇹 Quello che era iniziato come un semplice giro per evitare la pioggia…
si è trasformato nel rimanere bloccati a più di un’ora dalla strada asfaltata più vicina.
