A quick update from Will on the little Leech 18cc

It’s all coming together!
Recently we have glassed the cockpit floor, got both the upper hull sides on, top deck on, the gunwales on and the bow steps fitted.
Our next steps are to glass the hull sides and cut the fold down hull side doors in.

Overall the build is going swiftly considering we are just working on it in the weekends and around other commitments. It’s cool to see it look like a proper boat after a lot of hard work.⚓️

An update from Will on the Leech 18CC powered by ZeroJet
The hull bottom module has now been glassed, faired, undercoated and top-coated. The final step before rolling it over is a buff and polish. After we will work on the upper hull and deck coamings. All the hull side panels have now been joined together, and the centre console has been assembled and is ready for glassing. We've also added drop-down bow steps, making beach loading and unloading simple while also making it much easier to board the boat from the trailer. An 8-metre is in design....

This is the new Leech 1160 Expedition power cat that will be based in Australia. Built from aluminium and powered by twin 300hp Mercury outboards with foil assist.
The interior has three cabins, a bathroom with a separate shower, twin centre helm seats, a large galley, and a spacious L-shaped lounge where the table can be lowered to create an extra queen-size bed.

We are excited that the Leech 18 CC will now be powered by fully electric jet propulsion units from ZeroJet.

The package that will be fitted features twin ZeroJet 30kW electric waterjet units paired with 12 batteries, delivering a total capacity of 32.4kWh.

The addition of the extendable hard top increases available solar panel surface area while also providing expanded sun shade when deployed

Sea trials will take place at our home of Charteris Bay before the boat heads north to Auckland. The plan is for the Leech 18 CC to make its debut at the Auckland Boat Show in March 2027.

Really excited to work with ZeroJet on this project. Keep an eye on the page for updates.

From concept through to completion, it’s incredibly rewarding to see “TJ” the Leech 38 come to fruition. Finished beautifully by Pine Harbour Boatbuilders, Pine Harbour Boat Painters and Marine power systems.
