Behind every perfect travel photo is the reality you just don't see.

This "stunning autumn colour" shot?

Actually taken from the edge of a carpark in Wanaka while I was trying to sneak a pic of my camera-shy husband!

If you're married to a person who hates the lens, you know the mission is real 🤣

Wanaka's famous tree-in-the-lake is literally hidden just behind those Redwoods.

It's a kind of funny reminder that you only need the tiniest shift in perspective to uncover the gold - whether you're shooting a landscape or telling a brand story.

The best images are often the unexpected ones...

I hit pause on Silly Season over the weekend.

Because I don't know about you, but December feels like trying to pack for a month-long holiday in a carry-on bag - it's too much, but we keep pushing anyway.

It's been a crazy year, so I took time out to reflect on the stories I got to tell this year - and compiled a few of my fav moments together in a blog post.

Whether I’m photographing a client’s event or designing a bespoke journey for an intrepid traveler, the real value always comes down to the same thing: capturing those key moments that tell the real story - the unexpected joy, the quiet reflection, the unscripted connection.

Here are a few of the selection - you can read the story behind them on the blog (link in comments).

Which one is YOUR fav?

1. Suwung Community, Bali
2. Te Puia, Rotorua
3. Nusa Dua Sunrise, Bali
4. Ōtautahi Christchurch

It's happening!! Pre-orders are now open!!

I wrapped up the final design for my 2026 Travel Calendar, hit save, and it’s already on its way to the printers. šŸ™Œ

Here’s a sneak peek - it's going to be a year of moody coastlines, soft light and those quiet little moments I always end up falling in love with on the road.

This has been such a fun project to put together, and I can’t wait to see it in print. Thanks for all the excitement and encouragement during this process - seriously, it pushed me to finally make this happen.

Pre-orders for the limited print run are open now, for delivery just in time for Christmas!! Link in comments šŸ‘‡

Bringing in the weekend feels…

If you had to pick one spot to spend the rest of the day, which would you choose?

šŸ‘Œ The pool
šŸ‘Œ The gardens
šŸ‘Œ Your bedroom
šŸ‘Œ Your private pool deck
šŸ‘Œ The lounger swing
šŸ‘Œ …or the bar?

I was blown away by MeliĆ” Koh Samui when I visited last month.
The whole place is designed to slow you right down - lush tropical gardens, sparkling pools that weave through the property, calm indoor–outdoor spaces, and rooms that feel more like a personal sanctuary than ā€œjust a place to sleep.ā€

They describe themselves as a wellness resort… and honestly? They’ve nailed it. Every corner feels intentional, soothing, and beautifully thought-out.

These photos are just a tiny glimpse of what I captured on our walkaround - I could have spent days photographing this place.

If you were there right now, which spot would you claim for the afternoon? 🌓✨

Thanks to MELIƁ Hotels & Resorts for showing us around, The Travel Brokers for the opportunity and Qantas and Bangkok Airwaysfor getting us there.

We all want to look our best in photos... but there is such a thing as over-editing.

Sure, I'll smooth out your complexion and tidy the temporary stuff - the surprise pimple, the mystery bruise, the dark circles.

But the laugh lines? The real expressions? That spark when you're genuinely connecting with someone?

That's the good stuff - and it stays.

Because the moments people love (like this one right here) aren't polished, filtered versions of you. They're REAL.

Behind the scenes of a ā€œsimpleā€ travel calendar? It’s… not actually that simple. šŸ˜…

Over the last few weeks I’ve been deep in the admin tunnel - researching paper stocks, running test prints, figuring out postage options, and doing the maths on pricing so it’s fair and sustainable.

It's been a crazy rabbit hole I wasn't really expecting... but also kinda fun!

So - exciting update… The waitlist is officially open!

If you want first access to this limited run of calendars, you can jump on via the link in the comments - there's no commitment to buy, just register your interest and watch your inbox for updates.

Thanks for the enthusiasm so far. It means so much to know these photos resonate beyond my own camera roll. šŸ“øšŸ’›

Here's another contender - this one was the overwhelming over on LinkedIn.

Something a little different is in the works... šŸ‘€

Over the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to capture some incredible places - from wild coastlines and misty mountains to quiet moments that remind you why travel really matters.

So, I’ve finally decided to do something I’ve been talking about forever...

✨ I’m putting together a calendar featuring some of my favourite travel photos - a mix of landscapes and memorable moments that tell stories from near and far.

It’s still early days (pricing and details coming soon!), but I couldn’t wait to share a little sneak peek.

I’ve posted three photos below - and I’d love your input.

Which image would you like to see in the calendar? Vote for your favourite in the comments!

- Waihi Beach (the shells), the Dart River, or the Alaskan pipeline??šŸ‘‡

Lately I’ve been working on how to explain what I actually do (without stumbling over my words šŸ™ˆ).

The short version?
With my two hats of travel and photography - I help people find and share stories worth remembering.

šŸ“ø Capturing events, retreats, and editorial shoots in a documentary style - those real, unscripted moments that people look back on again and again.

āœˆļø Designing trips for people who are done ticking boxes and want something more meaningful. Journeys that balance comfort with the thrill of discovery.

For me, it all comes back to curiosity, adventure, and connection.

So if you’re planning something worth remembering - whether it’s a big event, a retreat, or a trip that’s been on your mind for years -let’s chat.

šŸ‘‰ Out of curiosity… if someone asked you what you do in one line, what would you say?
