Te Huia is a public transport rail service, operated in partnership by Waikato Regional Council and Kiwirail. Te Huia is a trial service, which is funded for five years until mid-2026. Connecting passengers from Waikato to Auckland, Te Huia stops at six stations between Frankton (Hamilton) and the Strand (Auckland), along the main trunk line railway of the North Island of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Looks like the pups didn't need asking twice! 🐾🚂

We were delighted to welcome some very special passengers from Mobility Dogs aboard Te Huia recently.

They took every part of the journey in their stride, embracing the new sights, sounds and experiences along the way. And if those wagging tails are anything to go by, we'd say they thoroughly enjoyed the ride too 💚

🚆🦮 Who let the dogs out?

This week, we welcomed seven pups in training from Mobility Dogs aboard Te Huia to experience a real train environment and practise using the ramp and hoist.

🐾 Monday: Tilda, Storm & Haylee
🐾 Wednesday: Hana, Jimmy, Hugo & Quinn

Every new experience helps these pups grow their confidence and skills for the future.

Safe to say they were all very good boys and girls 💚
