From a shoot with USAF Special Operations and the 160th SOAR out in Wyoming. Always fun playing with the Little Birds and more so when you get to shut down a main highway so we can land an MC130J on it. 😎🚁

This was an oldie - HeliPro used to operate thie S61R (rare version with the ramp at the back) on logging and heavy lift in nZ before it crashed in the South island. Flew down in HeliPro's 500C one day to grab some shots of it.

Shooting helos I do get to go to some pretty cool places. On this shoot I was out in the middle of New Mexico with the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, NM and their new Bell Flight 505. Pretty cool place and the Sheriff let us take the 505 out to this rock formation called Shiprock. Made for a stunning backdrop to shoot.

These two were from a shoot with AirGreen in Italy and their first Airbus Helicopters H145. They were doing some training with a mountain rescue team on a sheer cliff face. Was pretty impressive to watch and you certainly wouldnt do it if you were scared of heights. After we shot these photos they asked me if I wanted to be part of it and hoisted down to be the "victim" stuck on the side of this cliff face - the answer was a very simple "FarQ That" 🀣🀣.

One of the cooler things I have done - working with great friends who own CHI Aviation. They have a contract supporting the U.S. Navy on the range off the coast of Kauai. Spent a few days shooting with their amazing team at PMRF - getting to use an S61 as a camera ship as we chased its sister aircraft dropping a torpedo into the ocean for submarines under the water to chase. Pretty cool actually especially when you look in all directions and only see water. And then when they have to pick them up after the subs have done their thing its equally impressive as they use a giant shuttlecock to try and put it over the bobbing torpedo - and in some cases as I got to witness in pretty rough seas. Pretty impressive operation run by some talented crews.

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Canberra πŸ”₯πŸš’

Today marks the 23nd anniversary of the 2003 Canberra bushfires, a day many Canberrans will never forget - one that I certainly wont. Spent many days up in the air attack platforms with Jayson McKellar and Ashley Frank shooting these fires. One moment that sticks in my mind is when Jayson and our pilot dropped me off into a paddock of horses and I had to use a large rock to try and smash the padlock so we could let the horses out as the fire raced up the paddock towards them. We got the gate open in time and the pilot and Jayson herded the horses uphil thru the gate just in time and then literally minutes after they landed and picked me up the fire had raced through the paddock.

Today is a day of reflection, as we remember the four lives that were lost, the homes and properties that were destroyed and those who were displaced by the disaster. One of the biggest fires I ever worked on shooting for the NSW Rural Fire Service

When up shooting in Alaska with Chad and the team at Alpha Aviation and their Airbus Helicopters H125 we came across this iceberg that had just turned turtle at the base of the Knick Glacier. Was absolutely stunning - spent about 30 mins flying around shooting the B3 in front of the iceberg. For those that arent aware its this bright blue colour because all the water is still in the ice from when it turned upside down. As time goes by the water drains out and it all turns white. It was so awesome to get to play with this as a background for a while.
