It is always inspiring to see new ways of bringing our World Heritage landscapes to life!

Our sister park, Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park, has launched Village Walk with a Fjord Ranger in Aurland, a unique opportunity to experience the village through the eyes of the people who know and care for it best. Along the way, visitors learn about the landscape, local history, everyday life, and how generations have lived in harmony with the fjord.

We are delighted to see the Fjord Ranger concept growing across the West Norwegian Fjords World Heritage Site. Together, we share the same goal: inspiring people to discover, understand and help protect these extraordinary landscapes for future generations.

Congratulations to everyone involved, and we wish you the very best with your Fjord Ranger programme! 💙

Today‘s Fjord Ranger Adventure offered a special treat 🌊

Because of the wind, our journey began differently — instead of boarding later in Geiranger, the small tender boat picked us up right in the middle of the fjord, surrounded by the famous waterfalls and towering cliffs!

Impressive to watch how professionally the small boat of Geiranger Fjordservice was guided alongside the big ship and docked with precision.
A special moment looking back at the Havila Voyages ship… and then suddenly — Havila accelerated and passed us! 🚢💨

Today wasn’t just a dream for nature lovers, but also a highlight for anyone fascinated by ships and the coastal route 💙

Geiranger har fått skredvarslingsanlegg 🔊🏔️❄️ No blir det ein innkøyringsfase for å lære opp radarar og kamera. Fylkeskommunen inviterer lokalsamfunnet til informasjonsmøte om korleis systemet fungerer.

NÅR: Fjordsenteret i Geiranger
KVAR: 2. desember klokka 17.30.

🛑⚠️Anlegget vart montert på fylkesveg 63 mellom Grande og Geiranger, seint på våren i 2025. Og fram til no har vegen vore drifta og vedlikehaldt som normalt. Systemet har blitt tilpassa, og er klar for testperiode kor vegen kan bli stengt automatisk. Vinteren som står for døra vil vere ein testsesong, og trafikantane vil kunne oppleve at bommane går ned og stenger vegen, utan at eit snøskred har nådd eller vil nå vegen. Slike stengingar vil stort sett vere kortare enn 5 minutt.

Møtet blir arrangert i lag med Statens vegvesen.
