Preparing crews for operational excellence.

The third training session is now underway at the P-Star simulator facility in Vancouver, where our trainers are delivering a tailored tug handling and es**rt programme to support the introduction of KOTUG’s newbuild vessels in Canada.

Designed around the vessels’ operational profile, the programme focuses on tanker es**rt operations out of Vancouver, standby activities, and effective response in critical situations.

Captains, Chief Mates, and Second Mates from diverse operational backgrounds are participating in scenario-based training that develops a thorough understanding of vessel capabilities, operational limits, and best practices in a controlled environment.

By combining advanced simulation with practical expertise, we ensure crews are fully prepared to operate safely, efficiently, and with confidence from day one.

A remarkable arrival in Rotterdam.
For our valued client Allseas, KOTUG Training & Consultancy successfully coordinated the arrival of the newbuild super barge Braveheart.

Measuring 200 metres in length and 58 metres in width, the vessel completed her journey from China to Rotterdam behind the ocean-going tug DeHong.
Through our Towmaster service, KOTUG worked closely with Allseas, port authorities, agents and pilots to carefully plan every stage of the operation.

The final tow from the North Sea into Rotterdam’s Waalhaven was conducted under the guidance of our Towmaster Bas van Hoorn, ensuring a safe and efficient arrival.

A new chapter in maritime innovation has officially begun.

With the launch of SD AISEMAHT and SD QWIY AANITSA SARAH, the world's first purpose-built dual-fuel methanol es**rt tugs will be ready to support operations for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project in Canada.

More than a vessel launch, this milestone demonstrates how high-performance es**rt towage and lower-emission operations can move forward together. Designed by Robert Allan Ltd. and built by Sanmar A.S. Shipyards, these groundbreaking tugs combine exceptional es**rt capabilities with future-focused technology.

Their names honour the Sc’ianew First Nation, recognising a partnership built on respect, collaboration, and stewardship of traditional waters.

As the maritime industry continues its transition toward more sustainable operations, these vessels represent what can be achieved when innovation, engineering excellence, and strong partnerships come together.

Preparedness and teamwork in action.

KOTUG Bahamas recently participated in Buckeye Bahamas Hub’s annual offshore oil spill response drill in Freeport, Grand Bahama. During the exercise, CAPT LEROY safely transported personnel, equipment, and the recovery barge to the offshore site, with deployment completed in less than 10 minutes.

The vessel also supported the positioning of oil recovery equipment, demonstrating excellent maneuverability throughout the operation. The successful drill highlighted the professionalism of our crews and the importance of collaboration in protecting the marine environment and maintaining operational readiness.
