Op vrijdag 3 en zaterdag 4 juli openen wij tijdens de Havendagen Werkendam onze deuren voor bezoekers.

Benieuwd hoe het er op een scheepswerf aan toegaat en hoe schepen worden afgebouwd, gerepareerd en onderhouden? Zelf op zoek naar een scheepswerf voor de afbouw van een nieuwbouwcasco? Kom dan langs op onze scheepswerf.

Tijdens de Havendagen kun je deelnemen aan een rondleiding over het terrein, waarbij ons team je meer vertelt over onze werkzaamheden, projecten en de verschillende vakgebieden die samenkomen op onze werf.

Daarnaast staat de barbecue klaar en ontvangen we bezoekers met een broodje hamburger ๐Ÿ” en een drankje.

After the recent acquisition of the coaster Varkan Ege by Volharding Group, she has undergone a transformation with a new look in Volharding colours and a new name: Star Aruba.

Following the completion of the intermediate survey, change of flag and change of management, Star Aruba continues her journey as part of the Volharding fleet.

Within Volharding Group, we combine a broad range of maritime expertise under one roof. Our activities include inland and short sea shipping operations, chartering, as well as ship outfitting, maintenance and repair services at our shipyard in Werkendam. Through RED Shipping B.V., we also provide technical management and crewing services for third parties active in inland and short sea shipping. By bringing these activities together within one group, we combine practical maritime experience with technical expertise and short lines of communication.

We are proud to see Star Aruba sailing under her new identity and wish her and her crew safe voyages.

Op onze scheepswerf in Werkendam is de afbouw van de nieuwe binnenvaarttanker van 135 x 17,5 meter in volle gang.

Vorige week is het stuurhuis geplaatst. Een klus waarbij zorgvuldige voorbereiding en precisiewerk cruciaal zijn. Daarnaast zijn de spudpalen aan zowel de voor- als achterzijde van het schip geรฏnstalleerd.

De motoren voor het schip staan inmiddels ook op hun plek en er wordt volop gewerkt aan de leidingstraat, machinekamers en accommodatie. Zo komt het schip stap voor stap meer tot leven.

The outfitting of the new inland tanker, measuring 135 by 17.5 metres, is progressing steadily at our shipyard in Werkendam.

Last week, the wheelhouse was installed. A task that requires careful preparation and precise ex*****on. In addition, the spud poles have been installed at both the bow and stern of the inland tanker.

The engines are now also in place, and work is progressing on the piping systems, engine rooms and accommodation. Step by step, the inland tanker is coming to life.

We look back on three successful days at Maritime Industry in Gorinchem last week.

The exhibition provided a great opportunity to reconnect with customers, make valuable new connections and exchange ideas with professionals from across the maritime sector.

Onlangs heeft Volharding Shipyard Werkendam de afbouw van de binnenvaarttanker Mendoza (type C) afgerond. Na een succesvolle proefvaart is ze nu volledig operationeel. Mendoza is 135 meter lang en 11,45 meter breed en beschikt met 11 ladingtanks over een laadcapaciteit van circa 4.050 mยณ. Tijdens de afbouw is ervoor gezorgd dat het schip voldoet aan de strengste veiligheidsvoorschriften.

Voor dit project is de volledige elektrische installatie, inclusief het monitoringssysteem, door Gecap Electro ontworpen en geรซngineerd.

Het leidingwerk voor deze binnenvaarttanker is wederom in-house verzorgd door Volharding Shipyard Werkendam, van ontwerp en engineering tot installatie.

Met korte lijnen, flexibiliteit en vakmanschap realiseert Volharding Shipyard Werkendam afbouwprojecten die aansluiten op de wensen van de opdrachtgever.

We are proud to announce that Volharding Group has acquired the coaster Varkan Ege.

Since 2023, she has been operating for Volharding Group on a charter basis. As of 17 May, we have officially taken ownership of Varkan Ege.

This acquisition marks an important step for Volharding Group and reflects our continued focus on growth, continuity and the future.

Varkan Ege is currently docked in Harlingen, where several modifications will take place, including a fresh new look in Volharding colours. She will also receive a new name: Star Aruba.

We would like to thank Veysel Vardal Shipping & Trading Company for the great collaboration over the years and for the smooth handover and support throughout the process that ultimately led to this acquisition.

We look forward to seeing Star Aruba return to operations at the end of May.
